Sorry Bears mauled by Panthers

The Chicago Bears capitulated badly in the 2nd half as Carolina pounded them into submission behind the running of Deangelo Williams on a rainy Carolina evening. The Bears had no answer to Williams as he romped to 229yds and 3 TD's, including a spectacular 66yd effort in the fourth.

The first half was a tense and even affair. Chicago tooke the lead when TE Greg Olsen caught Cutlers pass to cap an impressive first drive of the game. The Panthers hit back on their first possession when Williams sprinted clear from 15yds out. Robbie Gould completed the first half scoring with a 39yd FG as time wound down.

The Bears should have stayed in the locker rooms as they produced a pitiful performance in the second half. QB Jay Cutler threw three interceptions and The Bears defence went missing. Time and again, the Carolina offensive line created the gaps for Williams to exploit, claiming two more TD's. Back up RB Jonathan Stewart also took advantage as he scored rushing and recieving TD's of his own.

Chicago will look to bounce back next week as they entertain the winless Seahawks, although if they perform even half as badly as they did in Carolina, Seattle will be confident of breaking their duck.
