Chicago Bears at Buffalo Bills

Chicago back on track as the see off The Bills
The Chicago Bears returned to winning ways as they saw off the The Buffalo Bills in The Rogers Center 26-13. It was a return to form of sorts as The Chicago defence looked to bounce back after their poor performance in their last outing against Washington.
The first quarter passed quickly, with the only notable event been Robbie Goulds 34yd FG, as both teams tried to establish their running game. The game exploded into life in life with 22 second quarter points. Rian Lindell answered back with a FG of his own to make the score 3-3, before good work from Cutler culminated in a TD for stand in TE Brandon Manumaleuna who walked in untouched from a 9yd pass.
The old cliche that a team is at it's most vulnerable just after they have scored was proved as a truism, as rookie RB CJ Spiller sliced through the Chicago defence on the first play after the kick off to score a spectacular 79yd TD. Defence wins Championships is another favourite, and Chicago's unit played their part when Mark Anderson sacked Buffalo QB Trent Edwards for a Safety. A breathless crowd applauded both teams off the pitch after Lindell kicked a monster 51yd FG to give the Bills the halftime lead.
Whereas the Bears had capitulated in the second half last time out, the team was determined to take control this time around. Cutler led the Bears on a 9 minute drive in the 3rd, finishing off with a 7yd lob to slot reciever Devin Aromashodu. Chicago's defence then took over the game, as time and again the hurried Edwards into throwing the ball away and containing the dangerous Spiller to only 27 second half yards. Gould kicked to fourth quarter field goals to seal the win.
The Bears entertain The 5-3 Vikings next week. The winner of that game will claim top spot in the NFC North. Chicago will be without the services of WR Johnny Knox as he recovers after breaking two ribs.
