Eutechnyx is back with another NASCAR game in early 2014, but this time it will be published by Deep Silver instead of Activision. Included in the announcement (which can be found below), there will be new modes and features. Online play is seeing some major improvements with server browsing functionality which will make for a "fair and enjoyable experience." Skill-based matchmaking will also be available, meaning you can get rid of all the people who set out to wreck everyone on the first lap. Not only that, but if you just want to race against your friends 24/7, the inclusion of Online Leagues is just for you.
If the single player experience is what you are looking for, you can expect Eutechnyx to build on the improved career mode that was featured in Inside Line. NASCAR Highlights will also be returning, which allows you to relive and recreate the "biggest race thrills from the season."
We expect to have a lot of news from the title in the coming months. NASCAR '14 will retail for $50 when it is available in early 2014.

@skrody -- A lot of people care, honestly. Otherwise, why would they still be making them? Because people still buy them. Just because you don't think it's worth your time or money, doesn't mean everyone else thinks that way.

Well, Inside Line was an improvement over 2011. There still is a lot of room for improvement, though. I'm looking forward to this.

Not going to get my hopes up, but I will be interested to see where they go with it.

As long as Deep Silver is only publishing it... god, I just imagined what would happen if they developed a NASCAR game.

Online leagues sound like a lot of fun, even though these Nascar games seem to be so hard, for me anyway. And why not release it next gen, not that Nascar games need it, as they already look very real. Will online be up to 16 or the full 40 for online races?

Never been into NASCAR being from Oregon but I'll maybe rent this on gamefly just because it is a sports video game! Always good to hear new sports games out on the market.

The last 2 NASCAR games have been at best very average. Hopefully it will be 3rd time lucky. Haven't enjoyed a NASCAR game that much since EA's NASCAR Thunder.

I like hearing about actual online leagues. I'm in a few now and it's a pain to have to keep up with the statistics week in and out. Hopefully it runs smoother online in '14.

Kinda like FIFA.....no matter how great the game is, soccer is just not for everybody. I'll say that first.
But since you ask, I'll try.....
Just like any other sport, its a constant battle to the top of the standings trying to win the title.
Example: (career or season mode)
It's so much more than just "winning a race." You may go into a race knowing you need to finish in the top 5 to get into Sprint Cup Chase contention (their playoffs). Or you may know if you finish below 21st that you're eliminated.
Now within the race:
You're in the lead, but you're running low on gas with about 7 laps to go. Do you pit and lose your lead? Or do you chance running out of gas on the final lap?
When you pit and what you pit for (tires, etc.).....have a huge impact on where you're gonna finish. So there IS strategy involved.
Don't even get me started on wrecks.....
It's the final 2 laps and you're in 3rd place. Some other driver wrecks you out. Now, you're gonna finish DEAD LAST and get a lousy 1 point for the race. By the way, the driver that wrecked you out is the same guy that felt like you cost him the last race. (Yes, that's in the game)
There's drama in the season just like every other sport. You may go into the last three races needing top ten finishes to make The Chase. Now the question is what type of tracks are the races on? All cars and drivers have strengths and weaknesses for the different types of tracks on the game (The road courses are the worst).
All this doesn't even factor in tweaking of the car. Which has a big impact on the performance during each race.
Just like any other sport, there's drama. And there's plenty of guys who like it.

it perplexes me that someone would pay to do x many laps (in a circle mind you), on a console.
