I hate to see the irrational loyalty to either company. These two companies put out great sports game and when the two have a chance to compete against each other, good stuff. I am really enjoying the NBA series this year. The competition has forced both companies to put out a first class product. Case in point, NBA Live has stepped up with an improving product and NBA2k continues to put out a first class franchise sim. Let's just hope that we can see the competition open up to football and baseball because I assure you I will be a buying of both!

Both are just companies trying to grab my money. Why some defend either side like it's their mom or something is wierd.

That is exactly how I feel on both of your points. Each company is about money period. If one has a superior product, I am not gonna defend the inferior one because of a loyalty or a hatred to the other. After reading countless threads, not sure I am in the majority!

completely agree. i love some 2k games (CH 2K8, NFL 2K5) and love some EA games (NHL 10, Madden 10, Madden and NCAA Football 06 on last gen). If somebody doesn't agree with your opinion, they flip out. I hate NBA 2K10, but if you like it I'm fine with it. I'm fine with anyone's beliefs but when they yell at me or try and change my opinion it gets ridiculous

The 2k forums are a bit harder to criticize the game, because often the defense is to attack you personally. And in the EA forums, it is a pile on how the old days of 2k blows away any product EA will ever develop. I want both to kick a_ _!!

it seems like its mostly pro-2k and anti-EA. The 2k police is definitely alive!

The only thing that I wanted to accomplish from my blog is... speak up! In the past, I was a 2k guy through and through, but I will not put my head in the sand and pretend that it is the end all choice. EA guys are afraid to speak up because 2k diehards will slam them. Screw these companies, they don't give a damn about us. We are not shareholders of their stock. Use them. They have our 59.99 for every game, play them against each other and force a top notch product. 2k has the loyalty but EA has a lot to prove to the mass

It's a matter of personal taste. I disagree with the people who say, "you're not a stock holder, who cares." Its called brand loyalty. People defend their brand of football (Im a cowboys fan), and even their country (USA, USA). So of course gamers will be passionate about the product they choose to purchase. I choose the brand that consistently pump out realistic football games. And that is why I play only EA games.
