I often think about what NFL 2K13 would have been like. Since Ea has had the exclusive license, the video game football arena has been an abyss with only one overlord. How do you compete with that? How would you? You don't have their money, their marketing, the licenses...how do you combat all of that? This is how I would combat that, if I could.

I have to first start with the fundamentals and for that I would use All Pro Football 2K8 but with a few additions.

I see alot of people loving the demo and I don't know how to post the problems that I have found without being labeld a h8ter. I would love for some of the issues that I have found to be incidental but to me (a madden gamer since 95) they are more profound than the casual player and I would even go so far as to call them "legacy issues". I know this isn't the final build and people will scream nit picker but when you see these things every release it's hard to forget them or even let them slide. ... Read More

I was on the fence about BB. I couldn't make up my mind because on the one hand, I'm tired of the stagnant progression of Madden, on the other hand I know full well going in that BB is a new IP from a small group of European developers who have very little football knowledge or experience.

The good
The Euphoria engine is perfect for Football.
Running the football is easier than passing.

I have been an outspoken opponent to the Madden franchise for the last 5 years. Yesterday (1:30pm EST) I received a message telling me I had been warned that I violated a TOS (Terms of Service) agreement on the EA forums. I really didn't pay much attention to it other than to change the way I had been trying to get my message out... the truth about the defects in the game. The high flying Eagles offense that made Tampa Bay look pedestrian, are in the 3rd quarter of a game that should be a clinch win. Instead the Eagles have allowed 5 sacks, and have only 2 field goals (2 missed) and are letting the Raiders defense look superhuman! it's not helping that the Raiders are getting a lot of "Home Cooking" calls as well as no calls, but the game should still not be this out of hand with less than a touchdown lead! I got a message the other day from someone who said that 2k sports could be persuaded to make another football game. I'm completely bored with the cheating, ******** excuse for AI that is Madden 10 and I jumped at the opportunity to add my name to the list of consumers who are longing for a revived NFL 2K 5 in any form, even without the NFL license. To the people who are ready for a change at signal caller in the city of "Brotherly Love", Donovan McNabb is back, and with great flair. McNabb connects with rookie receiver Jeremy Maclin on a 51 yard BOMB! Maclin fought his way open, "hand jiving" with the corner who single covered Maclin without deep help. What Madden is missing... A look at the last 5 years

Why is Madden ten such a disappointment? Is it the lack luster presentation that is nice to look at, but is out classed by a game made 5 years ago (NFL 2K5)? Is it that it is riddled with bugs and glitches? It could be a culmination of all of those things, but I believe that it is the outdated physics, graphics, and collision detection that EA continues to use.
