This is on Heisman!
Erik Allen has had the most successful season thus far by of any Longhorns Running Back. Allen did not see any action on the field until the 2th game of the season (1st start was the 3rd game against Wyoming). And from there the rest is history. Earning 11 POTG honors, 8 of which were in a row.
After a embrassing defeat last year to Texas Tech in the final seconds. The Longhorns had a ship on there shoulder. And came out and destroyed Texas Tech 36-14. ... Read More

Word around OS is, no one is making them this year. I don't like playing where it's QB#12 to WR#6 for a TD.
So, I will be making them! Every player will be named, and I'll only edit equipment for knew player's. If I missed somebody on your team, edit him yourself.
I need at least a week to have them done. I have football practice every day and I'm the Captain.
When they are done I will make a post in the NCAA 10 Forums.

The Birmingham News must have a ton of interns scouring team press releases and scanning every beat writer. That's the only think I can think of to explain how they were able to compile spring game attendance statistics for 2009.
Some highlights:
- Ohio State "won" the annual spring game attendance battle. Although there is a growing tendency towards hyped & inflated numbers, there's little doubt that the Buckeyes had a huge turnout. The Ohio State University announced the crowd ... Read More

College coaches' contracts typically contain lots of add-ons and incentives. I looked at the contracts of some Maryland coaches and wrote a story on them for today's paper.
Here is a sampling of the provisions I found:
* Men's basketball coach Gary Williams gets $300,000 from the university in the year beginning July 1, 2008, to make appearances on the university's behalf in connection with equipment or clothing worn by players.
* Football coach Ralph Friedgen gets various ... Read More

Fear not, Terps fans. Maryland won't be heading back to the Humanitarian Bowl anytime soon.
Not that it was such a bad bowl game. It's just that Boise, Idaho, proved a long way for most Maryland fans to even consider traveling. Plus, Boise competes with warm-weather bowl sites. It competes with Splash Mountain.
Anyway, the ACC announced its new bowl tie-ins and -- as expected -- the Humanitarian Bowl is no longer on the list.

A new challenger has entered the competition to replace Maryland quarterback Chris Turner in 2010.
Easton, Pa., quarterback Tyler Smith committed to the Terps last night, according to Wilson Area High School coach Bret Comp.
The 6-foot-5, 198-pounder will compete with Jamarr Robinson, C.J. Brown and Danny O’Brien to take over for Turner in the fall of 2010. Smith chose the Terps over offers from Akron, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse and UConn.
