CPU Catching Deep underthrown balls

so i cant figure out why but when the cpu throws a deep pass and is underthrown and in the air for a while. my db usually my cornerback dosen't turn around to knock the ball down or pick it off. then usually the wide receiver catches the pass for a 70 yard play!
any help with this.

Switch to the defender and make a play. i usually swat it or if it has enough air under it i intercept it.
