Well, here we are again folks as another NBA season begins for your Miami Heat. It's your good old friend Mike Ross here from the Ross Sports Network bringing you yet another outlook on the new NBA season and the sole focus is now shifted to the new Heat GM in Mike Smith. In my eyes, Smith has been given a tough task with this new era beginning fir the Miami Heat. It was a somewhat rough off season for Riley and company as the 2016 off season didn't go exactly as planned. This all starts with the sudden departure of Dwyane Wade who before next season has played every year with the heat since being drafted. Wade decided to take his talents to Miam.....Chicago to play for his hometown team. If losing Wade wasn't enough, Heat All Star power forward Chris Bosh has also possibly played his last days as a Miami Heat player. Doctors will not clear him to resume basketball activities after sitting last year again for blood clots found in his body. Rumors have surfaced the Heat will not cut him until March 1st to ensure all of his salary comes off the books for the 2017 season. This would also make it so that if Bosh does sign with another team (If cleared that is) he can not be on the playoff roster for that team. With that being he case, 2016 could mark the end for the big three error after Lebron took his talents back to Cleveland last season. Withe the Heat trying to scrap together a ballclub who could win games They quickly re-signed Center Hassan Whiteside to a 4 year 98.5 million dollar contract. They then went on to match the Brooklyn Nets offer to Tyler Johnson and re-signed TJ to a 4 year 50 million dollar deal. After that they then went o to finish putting the roster together as they signed Derrick Williams to a 1 year 4.5 million dollar deal, James Johnson 1 year 4 million dollar deal, Willie Reed 1 year 800k deal with a 1 million dollar second year option, 2 year 12 million dollar deal for Wayne Ellington and they brought back Long time Miami Heat power froward Udonis Haslem on a 1 year 4 million dollar deal. They also signed Dion Waiters to a late 1 year 3 million dollar deal with a second year player option worth up to 3 million. The Heat also traded their second round pick to the Pelicans for Luke babbitt. With the shape of this roster, last years playoff appearance could be the last one for awhile as the Heat seem to be going into rebuild mode. Riley is never known for that though as he calls it the "re-up" mode as he try's to rebuild while still winning. The Heat will need bigger performances from Whiteside and Goran Dragic. Dragic's name has also been floated around in a deal as he has been linked to the Sixers, Suns and Rockets. But as of right now, Dragic and Whiteside are core pieces of this Heat rotation. The Heat will also need to get more production from last years 10th pick in the draft Justice Winslow as he takes over the starting small forward spot with the departure of both starter Deng and Joe Johnson. The Vegas odds has the heat at 34.5 games won and the heat would look to show up those odds but it seems the odds may be against them. for now, this is Mike Ross for the Ross SPorts Network...Aidooo
