The Minnesota Twins have won the bid to be able to sign top Cuban star Lourdes Gurriel. Gurriel comes in as a 22 year old and is mentioned as the best Cuban product because of his age and being close to MLB ready. Gurriel was hitting .321 with eight home runs, 32 RBIs and a .924 OPS in 43 games for the Havana Industriales this season before defecting in February with his older brother who signed in Houston.
