TAYLOR'S DOMINANT PERFORMANCE LEADS WESTERN TO 49-20 ROMPING OF NEVADA

Western QB Bryan Taylor was still mad about his lackluster performance against Michigan State where he threw for only 125 yards. Against Nevada he came out strong, throwing for 330 yards and 4 touchdowns.

"I had a good feeling coming into this game. I feel like our game preparation really helped in finding weaknesses in their defense. I just followed our game plan and that led to some big plays." That was how he responded when asked about his huge performance.

Notable Scores
#7 Stanford beat #14 Oregon 20-10
#18 LSU beat #9 Alabama 28-23

Bryan Taylor has now thrown for 676 yards and 8 touchdowns over the last two games.

Next up: Washington State at Western Michigan
Oregon State at Nevada

TAYLOR LEADS WESTERN TO 50-13 BLOWOUT OF FRESNO STATE

There was little to no drama in this game. As many expected, (Western was a 15 point favorite) Western Michigan dominated Fresno State winning 50-13 behind Bryan Taylor's 346-yard, 4-touchdown performance. However, there was some bad as Western Michigan's leading rusher gained only 68 yards on the ground.

Next Western Michigan visits 1-3 Nevada for week 5.

WESTERN MICHIGAN DEFENSIVE END MOORE MAKES BIG PLAYS, BRONCOS BEATS #24 SPARTANS 21-19

Late in the game, the Spartans were down 21-13, but WR Burge faked out Western SS Davis and caught a 43-yard touchdown pass to make the game 21-19. Western was backed up and threatening to give the game away, but on the two-point conversion, DE David Moore blew past his blocker and drilled the quarterback.
Western would recover the onside kick, but go three and out. Michigan State had the ball at their own 19 with 48 seconds to go. Their quarterback threw a deep pass on first down to the Western 47. Then there were two incompletions to bring up third down with 18 seconds.
David Moore overpowered his blocker and hit Spartan QB Garry Kelly causing the pass to fall incomplete (The tight end was wide open at the 27). Now it was fourth down and 10 with 12 seconds. Michigan State was out of field goal range, but they had a time out. Kelly took the snap and was immediately pressured by David Moore. Kelly scrambled and looked downfield, but everyone was covered, so Kelly ran for the first down. No one could get there. Then, David Moore dove and tripped Kelly up causing him to fall two yards shy of the marker.

Records from Michigan:
Michigan is 1-2
MSU is 2-1
WMU is 1-1
Central is 0-3
Eastern is 0-3.

Western had a week 3 bye.

MICHIGAN SURVIVES LATE WESTERN SURGE, WINS 26-23

Western Michigan lost their first game of the 2027 season on Saturday, falling 26-23 to the Wolverines. Michigan led 20-3 at half, but Western wasn't done. Taylor went 2/3 for 53 yards during Western's first drive of the second half. His passing combined with Spencer's 16 rushing yards led to Western's first touchdown of the game. Michigan added a field goal on their next drive, but Taylor was finally starting to play. On the ensuing drive, Taylor guided his team down to add a field goal. Western got the ball back with 10 minutes to go and they added another field goal cutting Michigan's lead to 7, 23-16. Michigan responded quickly, adding a field goal in only two minutes extending their lead to ten.

Then the biggest moment of the game happened. With only 1:50 remaining, Taylor threw his second touchdown pass of the day this time from six yards. Western was so close to completing the comeback. Unfortunately, Michigan recovered the onside kick and held on for a 26-23 win.

Reporter: Hello Coach, how are you doing today?

Coach: Good. I'm really looking forward to this season.

R: Team expectations are high as the AD and alumni feel that your team could be a top ten contender, how do you feel about all the hype?

C: I think that our team could do well this year as long as we maintain discipline and focus. The team has weapons on it and I am excited to see what this season has in store for us. In terms of the AD and alumni, they aren't really pressuring us, more just hoping that we can succeed.

R: There have been some rumors...

C: I'm going to stop you right there. I know there have been some rumors about illegal recruiting and that I built this team up and signed the best recruits by cheating. None of the rumors are true. The AD knows it, I know it, and most importantly, the players know it. I don't know where the rumors came from, but you guys can all ignore them.

R: How do you expect the offense to do this year with QB Bryan Taylor under center and two great receivers in John Fuller and Clarence Hagen?

C: I think this offense could be the best I've ever coached, but once again it comes back to offensive discipline and focus. If they aren't on the same page and passes aren't connecting they may see some other players take their roles.

C: That's all the time we have.

R: Thank you, Coach.

The Broncos recently received a commitment from 4-star defensive end, Branden Colon. He looks to make an immediate impact in the run game. Colon is the 51st best player in the country and has major potential. He could quickly turn into the anchor of our defense.

The year is 2027. The Western Michigan Broncos have proven themselves as the best team in the state of Michigan. Under head coach Pat Hollins, they are 4-2 against Michigan State, 5-2 against Michigan, 8-1 against Eastern Michigan, and 9-0 against Central Michigan. The Broncos had won 7 Mid-American conference titles, but they struggled in bowl games going only 4-6 in bowl games. Despite their lack of postseason success, they were promoted to the Mountain West Conference. Unfortunately, they weren't ready for the promotion as they haven't even competed for a conference title, as they were upset by Washington State in their first year and lost to Utah State their second year and those losses prevented them from making the conference championship game. Now the 2026 offseason is here and the Broncos have high expectations for the upcoming season.
