First of all, I want to start this blog by saying that the Madden 11 team should already be a month into development. And if they are not, then they are doing the customer a disservice because we are not getting a full year's worth of development.

Anyway, Madden 10 is the best iteration of madden ever, IMO, but that doesn't necessarily means it plays a great game of football. I'm not going to talk about that "other game" on here, but I am going to talk about two things that will make madden play great. These two things should be, if you are a true fan, the two MOST important things going into Madden 11.

Line play. The D-line pass rush is still non-existent and completely inconsistent in Madden 10.

This goes with the Line Play, but RUN BLOCKING. PLEASE. Videos like these should NEVER have to come out on Youtube:

How is that POSSIBLE? and How does this get through the beta testing stage? That is completely unrealistic and would NEVER happen on saturdays. In fact, that's a walk in touchdown 10 times out of 10 for gore.

Again, this is completely unrealistic... #63 would at least get a hand on and clip the blocker there, sending gore for at least 3 yds. How does this go unnoticed in testing?

Three times out of three, there is a horrendous, and frankly, unbelievable moment where someone turns right in and doesnt even clip the guy, leading to little or no gain and that's a game killer.

These egregious errors are easily fixable for Madden 11. And if they get fixed... WOW can this be a great game.

The one other thing that needs to be fixed is the Physics. The physics are still way off causing bad running animations and suction blocking to an extent.

If these two things are fixed, Madden 11 will be, and I guarantee it, the greatest football game ever made.
