Welcome to TheCrumb's Arena, which will be my home for my thoughts on the sports world, sports gaming and in particular the world of Michigan sports. I grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan and obviously became a huge fan of the Wolverines while I grew up and went to school in the area. However, I ended up going to Eastern Michigan University for my undergraduate work to become a secondary education teacher in Math and Computer Science. After graduating and completing my Student Teaching in May, I'm now in the boat of many, searching for that lucrative full time job and thus I'm currently substitute teaching around the area to help to build upon my resume.

Growing up in the state of Michigan(and in particular Ann Arbor) really lends yourself to seeing a lot of sports, at just about all levels(high school, collegiate, professional, etc..). I'll admit that out of all of the sports, I am a huge Football and Hockey fan primarily, but I do get into Baseball and Basketball when the season's come around. I've actually been a fan of EMU since I was in High School as my family and I became big fans of the Eastern Michigan Club, which plays right down the road. Trust me too, they were really easy to get into. The first year we went in full in 1999-2000, they went 27-11-3 and finished 2nd Nationally. The year after that they went 34-3-2. However, the thing that always bugged me about the hockey program was that they never had very good crowds, despite the fact that they were one of Eastern's better programs in terms of success at the time. So thus, I created a website covering the team to show that someone actually cared and to try to strum up some interest. Currently, the team is struggling a bit, the result of being filled with freshman players, but there's a lot to hope for.. You can check out the site at http://swoopzone.wordpress.com.

Outside of the Sports world, I have actually done a quite a bit of work at a couple of websites covering the game of StarCraft. It's a game that I actually beta tested 10 years ago! So if there are any OSer's who have StarCraft and are looking for a good game or two, let me know!

So what exactly to expect out of this blog? There lies in an excellent question. I'm actually still in a bit of a debate about that myself. However, once I figure that out, you'll know soon enough.

Lastly, I just thought I'd explain my Card Picture. It is one of the coolest photographs that I have seen at a sporting event, and we took it with a cell phone of all things! Back in 2003, the University of Maryland came to Rynearson Stadium to take on Eastern Michigan and the weather that day was really up and down. So on that particular day, we didn't have just one rainbow, but two rainbows! I also have a shot of the rainbow going completely over the other side of the stadium.
