Rumors are swirling that the Hawks have signed off on a "few" deals that involve "High End" players, more details as follows...

WOW - The Hawks, coming off a Stanley Cup winning season have delivered what they promised, a move that wouldn't be too popular with the fan base, but something the was necessary given the cap concerns going into the off-season. I don't like giving up Keith, but I have a lot of Dmen in the pipeline, and this was an opportunity to land the #1 overall which I will never see (I hope) based on a season's performance. Time to replenish the system, while being able to sign the core.

Niemi has emerged as a solid prospect allowing us to deal Pickard, and get another 1st round pick in retrun, couldn't walk away from this deal.

Another big name, that was a huge part of the Stanley Cup run being shipped out. Bolland has a great 2nd line center contract, issues is he is playing 3rd line center, and I don't think we can shoulder the load of the contract while he is playing on the third line. We have some nice C depth a year or two away in the system, so I'm not against moving him for yet another 1st rounder, and get a 3rd rounder which we did not have this year.

Solid moves, really happy with them, not one guy was traded to a Western Conference team either, probably a coincidence
