When watching Duncan Keith skate every night with Nick Leddy it's hard to tell that Leddy is only in his second year in the NHL, and is only 20 years of age. His poise with the puck, and his ability to take the puck from end to end is giving the Blackhawks a tremendous asset to play along side the former Norris Trophy winner Duncan Keith. "He's better than I was at that age, if he keeps progressing at this rate it's scary what he can become." Keith said. Scary indeed, the 20 year old Leddy is averaging just under 20:00 a night playing with Keith on the "second pairing" or 1a. He is also Anchoring one of the point positions a power play unit that is leading the NHL converting just under 30% of the time. "I wouldn't say the game is slowing down, but I am starting to feel more comfortable out there with more ice time, it helps playing with Duncs, it's easy when you have that kind of talent to rely on if you make mistake or have a question on or off the ice." Leddy said. Hawks fans sure like the sound of that as they could be looking at another dynamic two way defenseman blossoming before their eyes, and from the sound of it they don't have to worry about him going anywhere. "There aren't too many players in this league that you label untouchable because you never know what kind of deal might come along, but he's as close as it gets right now", said GM Stan Bowman. At this point, I would say so based on how well he has played.
