Second half surge boosts Cal over Washington

BERKELEY - Jordan Mathews scored 20 points and hit on six of seven three-point attempts to lead California to a 69-64 win over Washington.

Jabari Bird added 10 points and Kenneth Okoroh came off the bench to add 14 for the Golden Bears. Ivan Rabb grabbed 11 rebounds and scored nine points as well.

Jordan Mathews connected on 6 of 7 three-point attempts.

Andrew Andrews led the Huskies with 14 points and Darin Johnson and Giles Dierickx each added 10 more for Washington.

Washington (9-4, 2-1) took a 31-27 lead into halftime, but Cal (9-7, 2-1) had the stronger second half, outscoring the Huskies 42-33 after the break to knock them off and improve to 2-1 in Pac-12 play.
