Josh Rosen led-No. 6 UCLA knocks off previously unbeaten Cal
Posted on June 20, 2016 at 08:56 PM.
LOS ANGELES - The Golden Bears came into the Rose Bowl ranked No. 15 and riding a six-game winning streak, but the No. 6 UCLA Bruins had something to say about it and handed Cal its first loss of the year, 33-24.

Paul Perkins' late touchdown put the game out of Cal's reach.

Josh Rosen completed 21 of 36 passes for 300 yards and a touchdown and added another score on the ground with 31 yards on 14 carries. However, the player of the game for the Bruins was running back Paul Perkins, who averaged 5.6 yards per carry on 25 carries for 142 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught five passes for 48 yards.

When UCLA pulled ahead in the fourth quarter, Cal fought back within two points and was driving to take the lead until Randall Goforth intercepted Davis Webb in UCLA territory. Rosen led another Bruins (5-0) drive which resulted in a 17-yard touchdown by Perkins with 1:09 left in the game to put it out of reach for the Golden Bears.

Randall Goforth intercepted Davis Webb to stop a potential go-ahead drive for Cal.

Webb completed 24 of 37 passes for 293 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions for Cal and Khalfani Muhammad added another 84 yards on 13 carries. Chad Hansen, Kanawai Noa and Vic Wharton III each had 69 yards receiving for the Golden Bears (6-1).

*Apparently pretend Paul Perkins returned for his senior year in this case.
