OS is growing up Stuck
Posted on November 10, 2008 at 07:46 AM.
It was close to 7 years ago that I first discovered OperationSports.com. I was searching for sliders for the Nintendo 64 version of Madden, a version of the game I still claim is probably the most under rated. It had everything. Nice graphics. Franchise mode. You could even see your players' breath in cold weather games. Groundbreaking stuff, right there.

But this entry isn't about Madden. It's about OS. Over the last two years, this site has grown to become THE place to go for information and discussion about sports video games. I had the opportunity to be on staff when the site launched a groundbreaking new interface while doing away with the antiquated look it displayed for years.

The change wasn't a welcomed one to all involved but it was one that had to be made in order to accomplish the goal Steve Noah, the site's owner, made when he purchased the site.

Now we stand here looking at this new "Arena" feature that launched this morning. Sure, it'll have it's problems. A few bugs here and there. But from what I've seen of it, this is something that's going to add to the dominance OS is enjoying over all other sports gaming websites.

A big fat "atta boy!" to Steve and Matt and everyone else who made this a reality. Everything looks great, fellas. Keep up the good work!

As a visitor to OS since close to the beginning, I must say I 100% agree with ya TJ. I'm extremely happy I am able to be a part of this tradition now, it's been an extreme blessing for myself. There are even bigger and brighter days ahead for OS, here's to the future!

Now how in the hell are you able to comment on my blog? Is that feature up and working now?

Good blog TJ. I've only been a member of OS for 5 years and haven't really been an "active" member up until a year or so ago. But I must say, the changes that OS has gone through, and the "community" it provides is something that I enjoy, and judging by how many new members are joining each day, I'd say that there are plenty of people who are enjoying the site for the gaming info it provides, and its only a matter of time before they start enjoying OS for the community it is.

To Steve, Matt, those who are working on the staff now, and those who have helped pave the way, thank you for providing a wonderful gaming community and keep up the great work.

Thanks for the compliments, fellas. It'll really make it easier to come up with more to write if I know people will actually comment on it, lol. I appreciate the feedback.

Coming along well, eh TJ? Nice background, although the Bills suck.

Damn right it is, Steve! I gotta get a transparent OS logo though to throw up on that background. I'm not good at isolating just the circular logo in Photoshop. Can you help with this?

I can help you actually TJ... I have a lot of OS logos in PSD format. Hit me up on AIM and I'll send them over.

I'm on board with this new look as well. I always appreciate what you bring to this site TJ. Keep the blog posts coming!

Like anything, you either adapt or move on. While some have decided to move on (posters I really miss seeing post on these boards) OS is still a great place and the site I look forward to visiting the most every time I sign on.

I've been around awhile myself. While all this Arena stuff is new to me since I don't do facebook/myspace, I think it's pretty cool. I do think this will propel OS to be even more dominant. Sports fans might join and never even talk about video games. Operation Sports used to be Operation Sports Video Gaming and it might change in the very near future.
