I haven't even hit the blog in a long time, but this game has consumed my soul. I already knew I was in danger of being an absentee husband when it released, since I played the demo far more than most full price games I had recently purchased, but it's exceeded my expectations so far.

The beauty of going online and getting my tail kicked can't be understated. Of course local friends and my kids couldn't put me flat on my back and pound me into submission, but when you start playing more skilled OS users from across the country, new light is shed on the situation.

I discovered I'm VERY far out of my comfort zone when fighting from the flat of my back, as most of my fight losses come from the ground n pound. It takes a special kind of game for me to go back and practice specific situations repeatedly offline. I haven't done much of that since NFL2K5, running repeated plays with the Raiders just to learn everything in the playbook.

I'm getting better with each fight, but what an incredibly deep game. Every time I think I have something figured out, the next fight I am completely nullified and must change up my attack plan to avoid getting KTFO in the first round.

What a game. If you're an MMA fan, it's a must-play.

Sorry about last night...I had not downloaded the two fighters yet, and it would not let me join the match. I will be around tonight Bro and it sounds like ou struggle with the same things I do in this game. Even with my struggles and frustration, this game is at a new level.

No problem. Sorry I was inviting a bunch of people to fight and by the time you got back I was already getting rolled by another guy. We'll definitely get into the ground-game-challenged fight soon lol
