Alright, enough of the "last game, next game" stuff. Let's get down to the nitty gritty:

AFC East
Dookie's wrapped up the division. He needs a loss from the Chargers to secure a 1st round bye, so he can't rest starters and kick back just yet.

AFC North
The Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers are tied at 9-5, with the Ravens close behind at 7-6-1. It's anybody's division at this point, but the Browns are guaranteed another loss as they host the Jags in ... Read More

Last Week's Games

Game of the Week:

(5-2) Browns (TJ) 26, (1-5) Packers 24
Cleveland and Green Bay traded scores through most of the game in this one, but the real story was Coach Cutini losing Brady Quinn and Jamal Lewis to injury. The offense never really got on track (with 4 field goals), but D. Jackson and C. Francies returned a pair of picks for touchdowns to give the Browns the win.

The Rest:

(7-0) Chargers 30, (0-8) Chiefs (Rustedwalleye)

Last Week's Games:

Game of the week:

(6-0) Bills (Dookie) 28
(1-5) Jets 24

Dookie had to pull out all the stops in this one with a late rally to win it. The Bills ran off 21 straight points in the 2nd quarter, then watched as the Jets ran off 24 straight of their own. Marshawn Lynch scored the game winner with a minute left, after an apparent TD by Terrell Owens was overturned.

(3-3) Redskins (mgoblue) 34
(0-6) Chiefs (Rustedwalleye) 21

Last Week's Games:

Game of the Week:

(4-1) Lions (TCrouch) 46, (2-3) Steelers (CPU) 45
The lead changed three times...in the final 2 minutes. The Lions couldn't stop the Steeler's offense (453 yards in the game), and managed to lose the turnover battle with a -1. Yet in the end, they hung around and scored a TD with :01 left. Then Coach Crouch, showing a complete lack of faith in his defense, went for 2 and the win. They converted and moved to 4-1 on the year. ... Read More

Last Week's Games:

Game of the Week:

(4-0) Bills (Dookie) 25
(1-3) Dolphins (CPU) 22

The Bills were supposed to steamroll the Dolphins in this one, but couldn't get the Miami offense off the field (20 first downs and 37:45 TOP). Championship-caliber teams survive the adversity, and that's exactly what these Bills did in scoring the game winning TD with less than 3 minutes left.

The Rest:

(3-1) Lions (TCrouch) 48
(1-3) Bears (CPU)

Last Week's Games:

Game of the Week:

(1-1) Browns (TJ) 10, (0-2) Broncos 6
In a game that was all about the defense, the Browns and Broncos (two teams I would have never expected to get into a defensive slugfest in the first place) went at it. This game wasn't decided until the final minutes, when Orton of the Broncos threw an interception in the end zone to seal it.

Best of the rest:
(1-1) Lions (TCrouch) 35, (1-1) Vikings 31
The Vikings

Last week's games:

(1-0) Ravens 52, (0-1) Chiefs (Rustedwalleye) 10.
The Ravens appeared to dominate the game on the ground, controlling the tempo of the game and forced 3 interceptions of Dale's Chiefs (2 by Cassel, one by Tyler Thigpen). Willis McGahee ran roughshod over the Chiefs defense to the tune of 25 attempts, 182 yards and 3 TD's.

(1-0) Vikings 37, (0-1) Browns (TJ) 34
In a close game, the Vikings and Browns had a tight game. All of the Browns scores ... Read More

So me and some friends decided it might be fun to do a Madden 10 online franchise using last season's worst team from each division.

We're going to be using the default rosters (no free agents or trades) in season one, and then moving forward from there.

Right now the roster looks like this:

1. Bills - Dookie (may or may not be in)
2. Browns - TJdaSportsGuy
3. Jaguars - Altimus
4. Chiefs - RustedWalleye
5. Redskins - mgoblue
6.

So it's been a week, and I keep waiting for the warts to show themselves. I have yet to get annoyed by this little gem.

Online, offline, career, exhibition, etc...I continue to have a blast.

For the record, I started a heavyweight with the intention of developing a lethal standing striker/GnP practicioner. I succeeded, rattling off 9 straight victories to start his career.

Then I had consecutive losses once I squared off against Andre Arlovski and Cheick ... Read More

I fought a buddy last night about fifteen times, and in one of our fights, it was too close to call. We both had a ton of takedowns, a lot of ground and pound, and various sub attempts. Both of us were beaten up fairly soundly.

At the end of the third round, both fighters stood around raising their arms. Neither me nor my opponent really knew who won. I was playing as Roger Huerta, and my friend was Tyson Griffin.

The score cards came up, and it was 28-28, 28-28, ... Read More

So I'm plugging along in my UFC career as the heavyweight that I am (of course I created myself).

I've discovered through trial and error that you really need to be a gym rat to progress quickly enough to be competitive with the "real" fighters. Early on, I would train a little bit, rest the next week to go back to 100% stamina, then repeat. I found out several months into my career that I really wasn't improving enough.

What I've found out is that my career is playing ... Read More

I haven't even hit the blog in a long time, but this game has consumed my soul. I already knew I was in danger of being an absentee husband when it released, since I played the demo far more than most full price games I had recently purchased, but it's exceeded my expectations so far.

The beauty of going online and getting my tail kicked can't be understated. Of course local friends and my kids couldn't put me flat on my back and pound me into submission, but when you start playing ... Read More

I wanted to just throw a little love out there for a game that seemed to get very little love from the gaming press recently--Baja: Edge of Control.

I can't get enough of that game. It may not be the prettiest girl at the dance, but it sure is fun to play. Oddly enough, the toughest cars to drive in the game are the ones you start in, but as you progress, it really opens up.

I'm working on a full written review at the moment, but if anybody's looking for a decent offroad ... Read More

The OS Arena has sure been in development for quite a while, but it's finally here. Pretty cool setup, that's for sure. I've never been much of the blogging type, but it gets considerably easier when it's wrapped up in my OS account!
