I've been playing the L4D demo the last couple of days and I really enjoy it. Never being a fan of any time of horror/suspense game this really grabs at me. Coming from Valve though it's not really a surprise about the quality of the game. The graphics are intense and vivid while the gameplay is smooth and fluid as defined by their Half Life series.

I really think they have a gem here with a survival game. You aren't a superhero, you can't do it all on your own. You have to rely on your fellow survivors for help and there's an eerie feeling of being dragged into a room with no way to defend yourself.

Does if give that sense of "dread" about looking around every new corner or entering a new building. I mean a real kinda inside feeling. Not fear obviously, but something that is kinda ... I dunno, good to play in the dark?

Yeah, really fun to play in the dark. Like I said it was only the demo but playing in the dark with your buddies in the same game all wondering what around that corner is making the disgusting noise is a fun feeling.
