NFL Street/ NFL Street 2 gameplay tendencies
Posted on June 18, 2014 at 11:40 AM.
After many hours of playing both games, I have compiled some info about both of these games. It's mostly useless info, I just thought I would put it somewhere so people can see it.

NFL Street gameplay tendencies:

1. The offense is geared towards the run all the time, passing is so difficult it's not recommended to go to.

What do I mean by this? Try running all passing plays and you will probably get a fair share of turnovers on downs and interceptions (Don't be surprised if frickin Peyton Manning gets one, or any other QB for that matter!). Now if you run the ball oh... Say 90% of the time you will be able to actually have an offense! It's old school football basically, run to set up the pass and such.

2. The defense is geared towards the D-line

After playing for so long with my custom team in NFL Challenge, I find that the D-line is the main focus of the defense. Don't get me wrong, a good overall defense helps! But if you have a good D-line you can dominate any game you play by getting sacks and stuffing runs. I guess a good D-line helps the DB's as well, but so far I have not got any more picks that I usually do.

So what does this mean in general gameplay and NFL Challenge? You make the team fit the game basically! Since this game is based on running and defense, you make a team that is that... Pretty simple!

NFL Street 2 gameplay tendencies:

1. Way more balanced in terms of offense

You can actually pass in this game! If you want you could honestly run a west coast/ air coryell kind of offense (in more simplistic terms, this is an arcade game after all...). Running works as well, although the option and fake pitch plays work a little too well at times (The new camera fake seems to make the defenders bite a lot on that stuff).

2. On defense, predict every play... And also don't expect many sacks.

Defense is the unbalanced thing in this game to me. I could break down the offensive line and rush the QB well, but a large amount of the time he will either break those sacks or get rid of the ball before he has to eat it. The db and coverage is what is in season in this game, you can get pick after pick if you have a good defensive secondary (A good D-line only helps with stuffing the run it seems). Also you will need to predict what every play will be, I find this a bit annoying as if you get a prediction wrong you get overly burned.

So NFL Street 2 seems to favor balanced offense/ passing defense over total balance.

The end! Nobody may wonder about a 11-12 year old game, but I just had to write all this down to stop thinking about it!
