There was a 3rd party controller for the Genesis called the "Capcom Soldier Pad". It had a separate handle for your left hand on the d-pad and your other hand kinda freely hit the buttons. Awesome.

They should put the PS3 "batarang" on the list. I recall Sony showed this as the official controller of the PS3 and they got ripped apart by all the Sony followers. They tried to spin it around and claim it was never going to be apart of the PS3 and ended up coming out with -- what I like to call -- the PSThriii controller since it was clearly a rip-off of the Wii-mote tacked onto a wireless PS2 controller. Then, of course, they claimed they were not putting in the "rumble pack" because it was "last gen technology" when really they were in the process of being sued by the original hardware inventor over licensing rights.
Seriously, no innovation out of that company in X years and they wonder why they're 3rd in console sales.

QOTD: I've always liked the Dualshock controllers. The 360 pad is very good, but the crappy, unresponsive directional pad brings it down to second place.

QoTD: The original DualShock controller, and all of it's later versions. Analog sticks are perfectly placed, and the buttons were (are) pressure-sensitive. Personally, I hate the bulky Xbox controller...

Johnny spoke it best. I love the 360 but that directional pad is so subpar it's a shame. I will say that Sony does put quality into their products.

The 360 controller. I never thought that it stunk until I read people posting about it. Maybe I use it less? Or I'm clueless?
Either way, the triggers and the bumpers are perfectly spaced on the 360 (a lot better than dual triggers on the PS3) and the controller fits perfectly in my hands.

And that Saturn controller is hideous. It makes the Xbox1 controller look like the Mona Lisa.

Boritter: Is actually cause controllers are like women. Different guys like different women just like different guys like different controllers. Now the reason you and I love the 360 controller best, is because it is the same as our women. Perfectly rounded in all the right areas, with all their buttons in easy reach for smooth transition from one play to the next. The when it get really crazy and you have to use two hands you don't get a cramp while working it right.
All in all if you want to use the stick for everything, the XBox 360 controller is perfect. Too bad they can't make one just like it for the PS3 too.
