QOTD: Great Grantland piece yesterday on the Over the Glass Delay of Game Rule in the NHL with which I completely agree with. Still, for me, it'd be the Red Card + Penalty awarded for denial of a clear goal scoring opportunity in the penalty box in soccer. Give the penalty if in the box, or the red card if outside; don't double punish teams, though.

Half of the NFL rules. I haven't watched an NFL game in years because it doesn't even resemble football much anymore.

In Major League Baseball, I'd replace the umpire having final, indisputable say over everyone else in the game with a more computerized instant replay system in all facets possible, including balls and strikes. The stubborn culture of baseball that values human error as a traditional part of the game over getting the calls on all plays correct baffles me.

Qotd Infield fly should changed so that if the ball drops, each runner moves up one base.

Agreed CHooe, we have TECHNOLOGY for a reason. Not sure I'd go as for as balls and strikes (could make a game even longer), but close plays at any base should be. I guess you could add in that managers can "Challenge" 2 plays a game?

I read the 5 fun activities and I don't know what this says about me but I disagree with almost every single one of those!

I am probably against the grain with my thought on the QOTD but in football I would get rid of the new hit rules they implemented last year. These gentleman are compensated extremely well for the chances that they take. I know that I am probably in the minority and will probably even get flamed but high risk=high reward, simple economics.

Oh and let me add to my above post. The only place I think these hit rules should be changed is in the NFL. I completely understand and agree with High School and NCAA rules governing these rules. NFL however I feel different about.

QOTD: I'd like to see the DH eliminated from baseball. Maybe that's just the National League fan in me, IDK.

QOTD: The "process of a catch" rule in football needs to be gone three years ago. I think time should determine the moment of true possession on a reception. Think of it like the gallon-o-milk challenge. Once you have it down, you gotta keep it down for ___ minutes or you lose the challenge.

The time starts when the ball is secured between two points on the body. That could be hand/body, arm/body, thumb/pinky, etc. Once it's possessed for 2 seconds (obviously that's a judgement call in real time) then it's a catch.

QOTD: Hmmm, double minor for blood drawn on high sticks in the NHL. Sounds outrageous to those that didn't know, but it's a rule, believe it or not. Award a double minor for blatant disregard and a standard minor for accidental.

Not sure how the link and comment thing works, but I found the 5 things nobody really likes but are supposed to funny. We played monopoly all the damn time. My stepdad was always the slum lord who bought up the cheap properties and put up sleazy hotels. Four hours later he had most of my money and I quit.

Make a rule against back-to-back timeouts in the NBA. I dislike how it takes 15 minutes to play the last 30 seconds of the game.

In college basketball have only 2 tv timeouts instead of 4. It allows teams to get away with not much depth, and the coaches have 5 timouts already.
