Say Good-bye To My Wisdom Teeth...
Posted on November 11, 2008 at 08:06 AM.
Yup, say good-bye. In about an hour, they will be removed. I'm jumping for joy at the anticipation of it all, can you tell? Probably won't be around much today, just depends on how I feel, I've heard the bad and the good stories, now it's time to see which category I fall into. I'm having 3 of them removed, as the 4th one is nowhere to be seen. Wish me luck.

Having your wisdom teeth removed isn't so bad at first...the drugs they give you are AWESOME! But the next 2 or 3 days will suck. Sorry...I'm not going to sugarcoat it.

Good luck, are they impacted? Those are the bad ones, other than that, eat lots of scrambled eggs! LOL

Steve, I'm having two of mine removed tomorrow @ 2 pm, so I can empathize brother! I hope the bad stories aren't as bad as they sound, I have to work Thursday morning! LOL.

Steve hope all goes well. Had two of mine removed two years ago. Wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would have been...

Here's to a speedy recovery.

Hope everything went well. Getting those pulled out can be a pain afterwards.

Chewing on tea bags helps to stop the bleeding.

Seriously.

What are you, like 16? Doesn't everyone get them out before the age of 60? You're now what, 65? Isn't this procedure life threatening for someone like you who is frail and past his time? In all honesty, I had a delightful experience. No complications, really no pain, didn't even really need the painkillers.

Good luck. I have to get that done by this summer, I am not looking forward to it.

Good luck. Man I remember getting my wisdom teeth pulled. Slobbering all day long so I had to keep a towel on hand, not being able to taste anything, and the drugs OH the wonderful drugs!

Have fun sir.

Good luck Steve. I had mine pulled out when I was in high school. All four of mine at one time. Lost count of how many times they doped me up with painkillers.

I know for sure when I came home, I was drooling like a baby! It is going to suck for the next couple of days.

Good luck, Steve.

Thanks guys, I only had 2 of them removed as the Xray showed the third one doesn't need to come out at this time, so I agreed. Maybe I'll never have to take it out, but either way, I'm not doing to bad actually. There is more discomfort than anything, as I am drooling like a pitbull (which is what I'm leaning towards getting BTW, thanks for the replies in the thread guys). Their is barely any pain at all, but will take Skerik's advice and throw some teabags in my mouth on the next rotation of gauze pads.

They were not impacted EG.
JD, if they are under the gums, I hear it is worse, mine were out of the gums, so they didn't have to slit the gums.
Did anyone ever tell you Chase, you are a stud?
Like I said Marino, it's not bad at all. Just uncomfortable, it's a better way to describe it.

Again, thanks guys! I should be able to catch up on some gaming this week, as I requested the entire week off, LOL. I was thinking the worse, but it's really not bad at all.

Steve, I would have had them taken all out.

I went in to get them taken out when I was about 12, and only one was taken out at that time, because I was told the other three wouldn't be a problem. That was 15 years ago. 2 years ago one of the other ones started coming in all of a sudden, and I had to go back and get it taken out. I wish I would have had them all out at one time, because that was such a pain in the neck. No pun intended.

Ya, the more I think about it, the more I think I should have just had them all done. But what's done is done, I'll be back for 1 more pull later in life.

I haven't had to have my wisdom teeth pulled (knocks on wood). Seems like you're managing, though, so that's good.

Be very wary of dry sockets though; my brother had one after he got his wisdom teeth pulled, and according to him, it sucks. Bad.
