Hardwood Classics games now available on iTunes Stuck
Posted on January 29, 2013 at 12:13 PM.

This is for those of you who geeked out over NBA 2K12's inclusion of historical games. Hardwood Classics has made a suite of classic NBA games available for purchase and download via iTunes right here. This is a real boon to anyone who's mostly relied on YouTube for their vintage NBA fixes and the games featured are doozies:
  • Kareem Abdul Jabar's NBA debut in 1969
  • Pete Maravich's debut against Kareem's Bucks in 1970
  • The Bullets and Knicks butting heads for the second time in 24 hours in 1973
  • Moses Malone fulfilling his championship prediction for the Sixers in 1983
  • The Lakers staving off the Celtics' championship aspirations during Game 6 of the '84 Finals
  • Larry Bird's epic Game 7 against the Pistons in 1987
  • The Celtics coming back against the Lakers in Game 3 of the '87 Finals
  • Michael Jordan's game-winner of Craig Ehlo and the Cavs in 1989
  • The Bulls' Game 1 victory over the Jazz in the 1997 Finals
  • Shaq and Kobe on the road to their 2000 championship in Game 4 of the Finals
A great chance to bone up on your basketball history.

I found on youtube, MJ first 40 point game he scored in the NBA. It was his 9th game of his rookie season. The craziest part about the video was the chicago broadcast crew was calling MJ captain marvel. It was the dumbiest nickname i had ever heard anyone being called, and it was cool to watch a game before "air" jordan even had been created.

Secondly MJ was so sick in the mid to late 80's people always remember 90's mj bc of the chips and how huge he became. But mid 80's mj was so much fun to watch.

Thanks for letting us know about this

The NBA should offer some sort of on demand feature where you can stream any game in history for a monthly subscription. That would be amazing.

So as per usual the UK is snubbed on this. I hate being a basketball fan living in Britain.

Anyone know if I can still download and watch these from the US I-tunes on a UK account?
