Game Notes
Oakland is missing their two best players, both DTs, on defense. Look for the Lions to try to hit the Raiders hard in the run game early on. Willie Young (RE) will also get the pleasure of playing against a backup LT as Veldheer is already on the IR for the season. Oakland was not able to replace Palmer this offseason but they did add yet another speedy WR, Greg Jennings. Look for Oakland to come out firing against the inconsistent Detroit secondary.

NCAA NEWS:

-Florida Statue University QB Carl Elliott is projected as the top pick for next year's draft, but Notre Dame CB Michael Jones is close on his heels.

NFL NEWS:

-Jeremy Shockey was released from the Colts.
-Marques Colston is out with an injury. Estimated 1-2 months
-Shockey was immediately resigned by the Eagles for a 1YR, 1.9M deal.
-Bears and Falcons were the only two teams to finish preseason undefeated

Scouting News:
-The first scouts were sent out to review mostly skill-position players. Lions are predicted to draft TE, OL, FS, and SS next year but things could change. We are still a long ways away.
