As a San Diego Charger fan you kind of get used to disappointment.
- The high of the '94 AFC Championship victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers was quickly replaced by the record setting crushing defeat at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers.
- The miracle 12-4 season of '04 ended too quickly at the hands of the underdog New York Jets in the last seconds of overtime.
- The dominance of the '06 season ended prematurely as well to the upset-minded New England Patriots as fumbles
In my Battle of the Bands blog entry I wrote about how I was torn between buying Rock Band 2 or Guitar Hero: World Tour.
After talking to a few people and a little more research I ended up buying Rock Band 2 from Toys R Us for $110 with a $25 gift card included.
It just so happened that I needed a $25 gift card from TRU for my nephew's birthday present so the RB2 bundle only set me back a net of $85.
Not bad if I do say so myself.

In case you didn't read some of my other blog entries, I recently moved to southern California from northern Virginia. I was born and, for the most part, raised in SoCal but my family and I spent the last four years in the greater Washington D.C. metropolitan after my assignment there.
We first moved to northern Virginia nearly four years ago exactly and spent our first Christmas there in a hotel. There was a little bit of culture shock as the D.C. metro area is extremely work focused ... Read More

Thank God the Chargers play the Raiders twice a season. At least, for one night, the Chargers don't look as bad as their 5-8 record (two of those wins coming against those hapless Raiders).
Now if San Diego can just figure out a way to play the AFC West five times apiece each season they'd actually have a shot at living up to their potential.
For you Raiders fans: I'm sorry. On the bright side, it doesn't look like Al Davis has too many years left.

I stand corrected.
Count me, among the many, that was sure the Houston Texans made a potential mistake the likes of the Trail Blazers passing on Michael Jordan when they took Mario Williams over Reggie Bush in the '06 NFL draft.
Although Bush has had more success this year (pre-injury) than he has the previous two seasons, it appears to me that the team has to adjust its offensive gameplan to fit his strengths, a lot of times to the detriment of the team.

Another fantasy football season, another check in the mail.
This is my sixth season playing fantasy football and I've made the playoffs in all six of them in every league I've entered. This year it was three of them (two money leagues).
I'm kind of a statistical nut so I usually incorporate a lot of numbers into my selections and match-ups. This year I'm in first place in each of my respective divisions in all three of my leagues. The playoffs have started already ... Read More

What's on your menu this year for Thanksgiving? I know most people have the traditional bird, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, but we tend to add a few more menu items than what most people have. We're having about 20 people total so the menu is large and somewhat varied.
On tap this year:
Appetizers:
Homemade Salsa & Chips
Deviled Eggs
Various Crackers/Dips
Main Course:
Turkey (x2) deep fried in peanut ... Read More

I'm in a bit of a quandary.
If you happened to read my first blog entry, you'd know that I recently moved from Virginia to California. I had movers come and pack up everything to be put into storage for no less than three months.
I packed the necessities in my SUV for things I thought I'd need over the next few months (clothes, 26" LCD, XBox 360, and PS3 among them) for the cross-country drive. I didn't really think to pack Rock Band (including the drum set and two ... Read More

It's known as the unofficial start to the holiday shopping season and if you've never been out shopping the day after Thanksgiving then you are missing quite a spectacle. Everyone from young kids to the elderly make their way out into the early morning darkness to stand in line at their retailer of choice all with the hope of getting the "deal of deals" on various items.
I'll admit, I look at the ads every year and think, ever so briefly, about going out and braving the crowds. ... Read More

I've done it again.
For the second time in four years I've moved from one coast clear across the country to the other coast.
It isn't the most enjoyable experience. There's nothing more painful then having to pack up all of your belongings and move them 2,700 miles, especially when you are a family of five.
Four years ago it was just me, my wife, and my four year old son. We planned a family vacation around our cross-country trip and made stops in: ... Read More
