I keep getting asked what I think the Vikings will do at QB... I don't have a clue honestly. It's obviously a very unusual and complicated situation. I can tell you what I think should happen though.
For starters, Keenum is not the future, be it immediate or otherwise. I don't care how good of a season he had. Let him go.. He's earned a paycheck, so let him go waste some other teams money. How quickly people forget guys like Brock Osweiler. Had one great season, cashed it in with a big contract, and has been dead in the water since then. There are a half a dozen teams out there that could give him a shot with minimal risk. Browns, Jets, Ravens, Broncos, Cardinals...
On to Bridgewater and Bradford. Listen, I like Bridgewater. I've never understood the hate for him. They say he doesn't have the arm, makes poor decisions, the playoff run was a fluke, etc..etc. Okay, I get it. He didn't put up crazy numbers. Hell, he barely put up average numbers. What he did do was make plays. He did what keenum couldn't do under pressure. He moved the pocket, used his feet, gave receivers time and took off when it felt right. And he did it all behind one of the worst offensive lines I've ever seen. However, with all that being said, He's coming off essentially 2 full seasons without playing. He's missed a lot of development time, and without seeing him actually play, it's hard to know where he is at this point. So my vote goes to Bradford, and frankly, that doesn't bother me at all. He's prone to injury. Has been his whole career, but when he's been healthy, this offense looked better than it's been in quite some time. He has the arm. He has the experience. He gave our receivers the ability to be the playmakers they are capable of being. Dink and dunk offense is great, but this team is capable of more at this point, and Bradford is the QB(on the roster atm) that can give it it's best shot.
So what should they do.. Let keenum go, Start Bradford, and find a way to keep Bridgewater on as the backup for now. In my opinion, this is the best case scenario for the team.
