Dude...WTF! Let me break my rant down.
What the hell is wrong with "Double Trouble"
355 total yards from D-Will and J-Stew. 355 freakin' yards! 2 rushing touchdowns between them...what the hell is up man?! OK, we we've had some injuries on our offensive line. And now we're without Jeff Otah, who is a very talented run blocking RT. But come on...DeAngelo and Jon have to freakin' do more than that! Especially Jon. DeAngelo might be quesitonable for this upcoming week and if he doesn't produce (I'm talking 100 yards), I will be one angry Panthers fan.
Is it just me or is Clausen/Moore WORSE than Delhomme?
I don't know if it's just me or not, but our passing attack has gotten worse, hasn't it? Moore was pretty awful to begin with and I don't know why we took a chance on him. I thought Clausen would be pretty good for us, but...49% on his passes! Really! He might as well do what Delhomme did and chuck the ball downfield to Steve and hope he comes out with the catch.
My worst nightmare concerning my Panthers is if Steve Smith finally had enough and refused to play with Carolina any longer. That would just KILL all hope for my team. But with this horrible season we're having so far, it could happen in the future.
Defense...defense...DEFENSE. But is defense enough?
I think we're doing pretty good on defense, despite what the numbers say. Jon Beason is...you know...doing what Jon Beasons do. The secondary is playing great. The d-line is...alright. But our offense has to do something. Some say defense wins games. And it does...when there is some kind of offense to go with it. People say the 2000 Ravens had no offense and they won the superbowl. But they had Jamal Lewis...and he was pretty damn beastly back in the day. But DeAngelo's running the ball like Reggie Bush out there man! I don't know what else to say other than we need an OFFENSIVE presence.
In all honestly, we should be 1-3 right now...
But our defense couldn't hold up in those last few minutes against the Saints. We played too damn well in that game to let it slip by like that. Really pissed me off. Could you imagine if Garrett Hartley was kicking that field goal instead of John Carney? OMG, I can...and it is SWEET.
My Panthers gotta get it together man! They have to! The size of their fanbase (or whatever they have) depends on it. I will remain faithful but I know some people who are fed up with the "underachieving" and are willing to betray the team and bandwagon to a team like the Texans or Patriots.

To be honest, I am not surprised. At this point I only had them beating Tampa Bay. The problem with you guys is that you don't have a QB. I never ever thought Matt Moore would be that (hey, I'm right) and Jimmy Clausen is not that (yet). Teams can put 8 men in the box to stop the running game because along with the bad QB play, the only guy who can catch is Steve Smith. 8 in the box + 2 on Smith = mediocre offense. Your secondary is solid, but the fact your D-Line is awful makes it hard to stop the run or the pass.
I know how you feel man... I've gone through this many times with the Redskins!

It's the passing game that annihilates your offense. I mean the only serviceable receiver they have is Steve Smith and it's been like that for a good number of years now. Double team Smitty and...who else do they have? Their quarterbacks sure as hell can't fit the ball into double coverage. At least Delhomme was somewhat efficient at chucking the ball to Smith and hoping he comes up with it. Clausen and Moore can't even do that! What do you expect? No passing game= 8 in the box. Any team would do that. It's not a secret that the Panthers fail at passing the ball. DeAngelo, believe it or not, has been very good. But Stewart...he needs to step it up. As far as I'm seeing, he isn't hitting the holes fast enough. It's already bad enough Carolina is missing Jeff Otah, who might just be the best run blocker on their offensive line.
Now on defense, the secondary is very good IMO. Gamble and Marshall are two physical cornerbacks who know how to tackle, which is good, considering the run defense has been subpar. The LB core isn't really much anyways. Jon Beason is there of course, but he seems less effective at outside linebacker and they should probably move him back to the inside. James Anderson has been a surprise and I think he's their best defensive player, performance-wise. And I don't even know who their MLB is and that's not a good thing. But the defensive line sucks very badly. Carolina is certainly missing Julius Peppers. I've listened to Carolina fans before the season and they acted like Everrette Brown would be their savior or something. And I was right to not believe them. The hard truth is Carolina has possibly the worst 4-3 defensive line in the NFL. Everrette Brown at RE? Charles Johson at LE? I've never even heard of the two defensive tackles. Ed Johnson I think was on the Colts but who the hell is Landri?
Lol, Carolina is a JOKE.

I almost broke my tv while i was flipping back and forth between us and the steelers game. Ravens and Panthers were in the same situation in both games, and then TJ and Boldin step it up to win the game while we get tackled behind the line and sacked! The worst part about it is that we had an opportunity to get both of those receivers!
It makes me so mad. I can't even pick them in madden because they suck so bad!
