QB Peyton Manning- please try to disagree with me. I dare you.
HB Adrian Peterson
FB Lousaka Polite
WR Andre Johnson
TE Tony Gonzalez
LT Ryan Clady
LG Steve Hutchinson
C Nick Mangold
RG Chris Snee
RT Jamaal Brown

3-4 DE Haloti Ngata
3-4 DT Jay Ratliff
3-4 OLB DeMarcus Ware
3-4 MLB Ray Lewis (screw Willis)

4-3 DE Mario Williams
4-3 DT Kevin Williams
4-3 OLB Lance Briggs
4-3 MLB Curtis Lofton

CB Champ Bailey
FS Antoine Bethea
SS Troy Polamalu

K Robbie Gould
P Matt Scrifes

I honestly think that this team would be the ultimate team (specifically the defense). If you disagree, please speak now.

UPDATE: LHSLax_D24 brought it to my attention that Redskins OT Jamaal Brown is indeed, the best RT in the NFL (and not Jon Stinchcomb). I didn't realize that he wasn't playing LT anymore.

UPDATE: It has come to my attention that I did not list any nose tackles!!!!
How embarrassing

UPDATE: Wow guys, LHSLax_D24 is on a roll! I've now been told twice by this dude! Jon Beason (sadly) cannot be the best 4-3 MLB because we freakin' moved him back to OLB (why...who knows). Props to Lax for finding all these flaws in my list. So now, I have updated my list and suggested a new best 4-3 MLB.

Please...just stop lol. You're embarrassing yourself immensely. Antonio made Brees? OK...is he making him now? Gates made V-Jax? No...Norv Turner and San Diego's offensive coordinator did when they gave him a chance. Gates made Rivers? Well...that...I cannot argue.

But Gates made LT, huh? First of all, the only thing TEs "make" nowadays is a QB. Not a halfback. How does that even happen? Unless Gates is the best blocking TE ever or something (which he isn't), you cannot honestly expect me to see any logic in that statement. LT made his own self man. Defensive gameplans revolved around stopping him...not Antonio. Don't get it twisted.

And Tony G is just reputation? So I guess 1,018 receptions is just rep too? How about 12,012 receiving yards? Is that just reputation? Is 83 touchdowns just reputation?

Better yet, is 83 receptions and 867 receiving yards at age 33 just living off reputation to you? Those were his stats last season. He is undoubtedly still one of the best (if not the best) TE in the game today.

Please....just stop.

@crandolph

Yea...Patrick Willis is undoubtedly the best MLB in the game. But I'd take Lewis over him in an instant. Remember, these are my opinions.

And I am glad to say that I do not believe Willis will ever exceed Lewis' accomplishments.

@Knighttime24. Ovie is good, but he's no Lousaka Polite.

And most of the time, a fumble-prone RB is pretty useless in my books. But come on...this is Adrian Peterson. The athleticism, the ability to break tackles...the vision. It's just too much. Easily overtakes the fact that he's a top 3 most fumble-prone injury. And Mendenhall is...not better than AP. Nor will he ever have a better season.

Michael "the Burner" Turner is not the same guy he used to me. He's MUCH slower and has less agility and acceleration. His cuts, spins, jukes...they are all slower. He's starting to turn into a bruiser and nothing more. Hell, he's not even the best power back (Steven Jackson). Sorry but...no.

@LHSLax_D24

OK, I like your team. I really do. Just a few adjustments I would make. First, T-Rich would probably be your best bet at FB (despite the fact that he isn't the best FB). He can block, catch, carry...he is the best all-around back in my opinion. Hutchinson over Dielman at LG (he's still the best run blocking guard in the game today people).

Other than that, perfect list.

# 21 LHSLax_D24 @ Oct 4
I could go Hutchinson over Dielman, the only knock if Hutchinson is on the decline.

# 22 DustinT @ Oct 5
No Revis Island?

# 23 phantomshark @ Oct 5
QB- no question
HB- I'd take CJ only because of APs fumbles
FB- Tony Richardson or Polite
WR- AJ, also Fitz, Marchall, and Wayne are all better than Moss
TE- Gates and Gonzalez are a toss-up, I'll take Gates for being younger
LT- Clady or Long (I have a hard time distinguishing between top OL players)
LG- Hutch or Logan Mankins
C- Mangold and no one else
RG- Snee is good but Jahri Evans is a beast, and Mike Iupati will pass them both someday
RT- Not really a standout anywhere. Stinchcomb or Brown probably, though David Stewart and Damien Woody are in the conversation

DL- don't really know what teams play what schemes, but Freeney and Mathis are the best pair since the NY Sack Exchange, Jared Allen is a monster, and so is Kevin Williams

LB- Ditto on the schemes, but Willis is the best, and flank him with Demarcus Ware and Jon Beason

CB- Revis and not close for anyone else. Asomugha is the second best, Bailey is too old but was up here in his day. Woodson is severely overrated, no one that slow can be the best corner.

FS- Still Ed Reed

SS- Polamalu is a beast, Adrian Wilson is the sleeper here, no one talks about him

No player in the league has more sacks since DeMarcus Ware entered the league in 2005.

No other player has equaled his mark of 10 straight games with a sack.

That goes to show you how consistent he is and he's just as great against the run and snuffing out screen plays.

He's not only the best OLB in football, he's in the conversation for best defensive player in football, period.

# 26 DaShowtime 24/7 @ Oct 6
I have a couple problems with this
1.best TE is not Tony Gonzalez?? its Antonio Gates by far
2.best OLB is Lamarr Woodley
3.best MLB is Patrick Willis does Ray Lewis run a 4.3 40???no maybe in his prime but Ray Lewis's reign is over holding this spot
4.best DE Jarred Allen consistently drawing double teams a force
5.best CB is definitely not Champ Bailey it's DARRELLE REVIS umm ever heard of Revis Island yeah im sure randy moss, chad ochocinco, brandon marshall, etc have!
6.

# 27 Fedor_52 @ Oct 6
definately agree with Champ Bailey as the best CB, just so smooth! i think he's pretty underrated right now, don't think he gave up a TD last year!

@stheoretical. sorry youngsta your name says it all--theorhtical. ok first if you want to talk about great tight ends who revolutionized the game and who put tito to shame, start with john mackey and kellen winsklow. i grew up on the latter. winslow was twice the athlete and three times the te as tito. tose are good numbers for tito, but they are far less impactful than his most productive years with the chiefs. being the best at one point is not a career long pass with the distinction. he is showing his age, and has already been passed up by ag.

second, ag made drew brees. who else was he throwing to? either gates or lt. during brees' run, lt was getting 80 or so catches to go with about 70 to gates. now with lt, yes he is a hof back, but his numbers exploded when ag became the central passing focus. hmmm, may because he keeps that 8th guy out of the box so they can perhaps cover ag should they guess wrong and the chargers pass--pick your poison. when they focused on ag, lt blew up. when they focued on lt, ag blew up. btw dude, norv wasn't on the chargers staff when ag came to town, nor when he became the best te in the game, so norv had nothing to do with ag's success.

uh and he made vj too. he is nothing more than a glorified number two. he worked his butt off to get where he is and much props to that. however there are only a handful of number one wrs in the nfl and jackson isn't one. this coming from a diehard, lifelong charger fan. when it comes to wrs and tes, i've seen, lived and died with greatness firsthand several times.

finally, partna don't get it twisted like your a full on expert because of your blog. blogs are dime a dozen, and quite frankly, 97% of the clowns the media is throwing out as experts are so censored that they are mainly nfl cheerleaders. it took some stones to put up a posting such as this, snce we all have different standards when it comes to this. but we already know that opinions are like a-holes, everbody has one and some of them are full of...you know where i'm going with this. you young thundercats need to take a breather from using madden ratings as the basis for your arguments and watch some football.

@supermanemblem

Yea...I'm not gonna argue with you. AG has been a security blanket for many years. But AG didn't make Brees. He provided a great receiving threat to him but when Brees headed to New Orleans, he was already good. Hell, he was good when he was in San Diego. AG had a lot to do with his stats. I'll give you that. But as far as "making Drew Brees what he is today"...all credit goes to Drew for getting out of San Diego. Drew OR Phillip (Rivers) aren't the kind of QB that need a security blanket. Antonio is an amazing TE and has been for many years, but he didn't make anyone.

And once again...LMFAO at you saying Antonio Gates "made" LaDainian Tomlinson. OK, Antonio Gates kept teams from stacking the box with eight....so what? Don't all good receiving TEs warrant that kind of attention? Hell, I remember back in those Vick/Crumpler Atlanta days where Crumpler would grab a few passes and my Panthers would back off, keep the safeties back more often. It's not just AG that can do force things like that. In a matter of fact, Gonzalez warrants that as well. Even more so when he was younger.

And you're right about one thing. V-Jax did work his butt off. But did Antonio Gates get him on the field? Did Antonio give him a chance to show what he could do? Let me answer for you....NO. V-Jax is a #1 WR and has been a legit go-to receiver for at least 2 seasons. Hell, Antonio is barely the #1 option nowadays.

OK, and great job bringing up something I already knew. I know Kellen Winslow was a better TE than Tony G. All those old-school TEs were better because they were more physical and adept to catching the ball. Not to mention they could actually block.

And I love your personal bash paragraph at the end of your wall of crap...very creative. But I'll just tell you this...I know I'm not an expert and I'm not trying to seem like one or act like I am. And EVERYONE knows Madden's ratings are a joke so why would I even consider that?

Just GTFO here man...I try to argue with you and think you gotta "set me straight" with some paragraph of crap. You must not of "seen, lived, and died" with greatness as much as you think. Unless, you're senile or something. You are just so convinced that Antonio is like the best TE to ever be in the NFL. Especially if you are trying to say that Antonio...a freakin' TIGHT END...made LaDainian Tomlinson, a HOF halfback.
