No one is talking about the Chicago Bears…But they should be.

Ask any NFL about the NFC North and all you will hear them talk about are the Packers’ chances to make it back to the Super Bowl, or Calvin Johnson and the Detroit Lions building on last year’s long overdue playoff run. In Chicago, though, they Bear fans are looking forward to this season and I think they will be happy with this year’s results.

The Bears tried last year to finally find Jay Cutler a number one receiver to complement the explosive Matt Forte. Unfortunately the Bears thought the combination of Roy Williams and Earl Bennett would be those receivers. Considering that the Bears’ best wide receiver last year is punt returner Devin Hester this did not work out. Forte and Cutler ended the season banged up and the Bears missed the playoffs.

This is the year that the Bears got it right though this is the year Brandon Marshall gets the Bears over the hump. The often maligned receiver is with his second team in 2 years and reunited with his quarterback from Denver Jay Cutler. In Marshall’s last year with Cutler Marshall had 104 receptions for 1,265yds and 6 tds. He has come into Chicago with a positive mindset and motivated to get back where he was a few years ago.

"I've been in situations in the past where we were treated like kids, like a high school football team, and guys would rebel," Marshall said. "Guys police themselves here. So when it comes to curfew, things like that, you don't see guys sneaking out their rooms during camp. Everyone understands their position, everyone understands that, 'Hey, he's treating us like men and we need to be professionals.' I appreciate that part of it -- it makes you wanna work that much harder."

The Chicago Defense and Special Teams will do what they have always done and now with a legitimate playmaker on the outside I expect Chicago Fans to have a lot to cheer about this year.

I think the whole nfc south is under rated. Every team in the divison has a pretty solid defense, and the Vikes are only missing consistent QB play. Only divison in the nfc that can compete with the nfc east team for team.
