Hi to All in Operation Sports
Please follow this link to my Dynasty :
https://forums.operationsports.com/f...franchise.html
I am new to this so apologies if this is not flashy to begin with. For some time now I have been posting monthly updates in the NHL Hockey forum of my team, the Seattle Battle Cats.
I began the franchise like I have for many many years playing EA NHL titles, by playing every game for the 82 game season. Of course I went through and won the championship in the inaugural season however when you play every game the challenge is somewhat not so high.
Yearning for a new challenge, I changed to playing only every 5th game and simming in between (& for finals, I can only play games 3,5,7). This meant the fate of the team was largely put onto how well I constructed and managed the team outside of my own gameplay.
My posts pick up from part way into the 2nd season as I had only just found Operation Sports and decided then and there I wanted to share how I went (even if it only appeases my own needs to share lol)
I wouldn't say I am an outstanding player, I play pro with pretty much my own set off sliders I think I am comfortable with.
From here I will start to copy and paste across my team's progress. Please bear through the first few posts as I was finding my feet.
Hope you can enjoy. Cheers, Dan

I was trying to go green with either yellow/orange secondary colour however I opted for black with orange & white as the secondary's as it looked so much better.
I'm a tragic for playing all 82 games plus preseason and playoffs so I play 5 mins periods to get through the season.
Loving the expansion mode, very invested with it and building the team nicely.
My current lineup for season 2 is
Van Reimsdyk - Hanzal (C)- Marleau
Scherbak - Patrick - Burakovsky
Burmistrov (A) - Helm - Shaw
Foligno - Vermette - Fast
Shattenkirk- Ekholm (A)
Manson - Nemeth
Miller - Gelinas
Korpisalo
Subban
Reserves: JT Brown, Kulak, Helgeson
Also signed Cam Atkinson as a FA for a 6 yr deal however was injured with a herniated disc in game 2 of the year so won't be back til January. Will definitely change my line dynamic fitting him back into the side when he's ready.
Other key FA signings at the start of the year were Shattenkirk and Marleau.

Finals - Eliminated Game 7 Western Conference Final to Minnesota (CPU BEAT ME!)
Stanley Cup Champions - Washington (in 5 games vs MIN)
Ovechkin finally takes home Stanley!
Conn Smythe -Brayden Holtby
Overall a great season. It was a first time for me simming most of the season rather than playing every single game and I really enjoyed the format I chose (see inside spoiler).
2018 DRAFT
A disappointing, almost disastrous 2018 draft, trading Dumoulin out to Minnesota along with pick 31, in exchange for their pick 13. All it resulted in was a Medium top6 D-Man... all the other picks were quite average also.
However in what would be a massive windfall for me a season later, during the draft, Boston offered me their 2019 1st round pick for defender Chris De Haan (Med Top4 D) which I took.
FREE AGENCY (2018)
Had some impressive FA signings beginning the year with Atkinson, Shattenkirk, Marleau & Manson all who played very well.
Atkinson missed 36 games with a herniated disc and then 10 games on a knee injury (46 games total) but made it back in time for finals.
REG SEASON (played every 5th game)
Finished out 3rd in the Central just narrowly beating out St Louis (by 2) and Minnesota (by 2) who both secured Wild cards into the finals and Anaheim who finished 9th (by 3 pts).
Playoffs (play games 3,5,7)
RD1 - vs Dallas (2nd Central) - WON Series 4-2
RD2 - vs Winnipeg (1st Central, 1st WC) - WON Series 4-1
RD3 Conference Final - vs Minnesota (7th Wild Card) - LOST 3-4
Played game 7 myself, blew a 3-1 lead in the 3rd to lose 4-3. The game went a little mental, you know, the usual silly goals that the CPU tends to score, yet I put 41 shots on goal and couldn't build on my lead. I was a little devastated at the time of the loss, but all in all it was an enjoyable game & I eventually put my bad mood down to something akin to how I feel when the Red Wings or my favourite Aussie Rules Football team loses.
I will put up a 2019-20 season preview shortly.
Above you can see my regular home jersey. The away is a white version of that and the alternate was a reverse orange version which was just as nice. (Black shorts all variations)
With green being a deeply immersed colour in Seattle sports, my 2019-20 alternate jersey has been completely redesigned & has added in green as the main colour along with the traditional black, orange, and white, I think (& hope!) it looks pretty cool & will show it next post.
