Down On The Farm - April Report

Round Rock
C Tomas Telis has really been leading things for the Express. He's t-2nd in HR with 3 behind Jared Hoyings' 7 and batting a team high .394. One of the biggest disappointments has to be Chi-Chi Gonzalez though. He's 0-2 with a 5.91 ERA in 5 games, opponents are also hitting .287 off of him. Ross Wolf has actually been the most solid pitcher. Wolf has pitched in 9 games (2 starts) and is 2-1, he's already pitched in 20.1 IP, allowing 20 H (1 HR), 6 ER, 17:8 K:BB ratio, .260 BAA, & 2.66 ERA.

Frisco
2B Drew Robinson has been by far the best player in the lineup. Joey Gallo, Nomar Mazara & Jorge Alfaro have all struggled. Gallo is batting just .183 with 5 HRs on the season. Alfaro is sporting a .205 average with just 2 HRs & 2 2Bs. On the pitching end of things, Jake Thompson has been the best pitcher so far in this young season. Thompson, who is 1-1 in 4 GS, has struck out 22 in 24.2 IP while holding batters to a .211 BAA and sporting a 3.58 ERA. Jared Eickhoff has also been pretty solid, going 2-0 in 4 starts and sporting a 3.15 ERA while holding batters to a .181 BAA.

High Desert
The top batter here goes between Ronald Guzman & Carlos Arroyo. Let's start with Guzman first. Guzman is hitting .307/.416/.533 with 8 2B, 3 HR, 10 RBI & 12 R. He also has a 18/13 K:BB ratio. Now for Carlos Arroyo. Arroyo is batting .349/.474/.444 with 2 HR, 12 RBI & 13 R. He's also walked as many times than he's struck out, sporting a 13:13 K:BB ratio. Now onto the pitching side of things. The most efficient person on this club has to be Ryne Slack. Slack has pitched in 8 games, 1-0, 12.2 IP, 11 H, 2 ER, 12/2 K:BB ratio, .239 BAA.

Hickory
Travis Demeritte & Josh Morgan seem to be the Top 2 players here. Let's start with Demeritte here. .357/.403/.686, 7 2B, 2 3B, 4 HR, 19 RBI, 15 R. Morgan, .385/.456/.474, 3 2B, 2 3B, 16 RBI, 16 R, 16/10 K:BB ratio. Luis Ortiz has by far been the most solid in the pitching staff. He's 2-1 in 5 starts, 21.1 IP, 18 H (1 HR), 9 ER, 21:8 K:BB ratio, .220 BAA, and a 3.80 ERA.
