Vikings D Just a Little Better Than Jets
The Minnesota Vikings put up another great defensive performance Monday night against the Jets. They did not let up points until 6:43 into the 3rd Quarter, and in the game let up just 14. They needed all the offense the could get because their offense had a tough time to get anything going.
Brett Favre again failed to complete 50% of his passes, throwing a touchdown and no picks in the process and Adrian Peterson eclipsed 4 yards a carry for the first time all year. Bernard Berrian came up big with just 3 catches but with 115 yards and a touchdown for 74 yards. Jared Allen had a huge night on defense with 9 tackles and 2 sacks.
The only standout for the Jets was Braylon Edwards who averaged 25.4 yards per reception and 2 touchdowns, while their defensive line had a bevy of tackles with David Harris leading the way with 8, and Shaun Ellis and Jason Taylor picking up sacks.
The Vikings head home next week to face Americas Team.
The Jets head to the mile high city to take on the Broncos.

Vikings Tame Lions, Gerhart Plays Entire 2nd Half
The Minnesota Vikings dominated the Detroit Lions Sunday afternoon beating them by an impressive 30 points.
If you look at the Vikings offensive stats nothing really stands out even though they put up 37 points as an offense, although Ryan Longwell had 5 field goal attemps. Brett Favre failed to complete 50% of his passes. While Adrian Peterson has yet to eclipse 4 yards a carry in a game, but he did find the enzone 3 times. The story of the game was Toby Gerhart coming into the game as the starter to start the 2nd half in a game that was still close, 17-7. Gerhart struggled though, and averaged 2.3 yard per rush. The Vikings defense was flawless sacking Stafford 3 times, one of which was a fumble picked up by Jared Allen in the endzone.
The Lions only bright-spot was Calvin Johnson who caught 6 balls and had an amazing 207 yards including a touchdown of 73 yards.
The Vikings have their bye week next week, and then head to the New Meadowlands Stadium to take on the Jets in week 5. The Lions head to Lambeau Field to tangle with the Packers led by Matt Flynn since Aaron Rodgers is out for the year.
