Vikings D Just a Little Better Than Jets
The Minnesota Vikings put up another great defensive performance Monday night against the Jets. They did not let up points until 6:43 into the 3rd Quarter, and in the game let up just 14. They needed all the offense the could get because their offense had a tough time to get anything going.

Brett Favre again failed to complete 50% of his passes, throwing a touchdown and no picks in the process and Adrian Peterson eclipsed 4 yards a carry for the first time all year. Bernard Berrian came up big with just 3 catches but with 115 yards and a touchdown for 74 yards. Jared Allen had a huge night on defense with 9 tackles and 2 sacks.

The only standout for the Jets was Braylon Edwards who averaged 25.4 yards per reception and 2 touchdowns, while their defensive line had a bevy of tackles with David Harris leading the way with 8, and Shaun Ellis and Jason Taylor picking up sacks.

The Vikings head home next week to face Americas Team.
The Jets head to the mile high city to take on the Broncos.

Vikings Tame Lions, Gerhart Plays Entire 2nd Half
The Minnesota Vikings dominated the Detroit Lions Sunday afternoon beating them by an impressive 30 points.

If you look at the Vikings offensive stats nothing really stands out even though they put up 37 points as an offense, although Ryan Longwell had 5 field goal attemps. Brett Favre failed to complete 50% of his passes. While Adrian Peterson has yet to eclipse 4 yards a carry in a game, but he did find the enzone 3 times. The story of the game was Toby Gerhart coming into the game as the starter to start the 2nd half in a game that was still close, 17-7. Gerhart struggled though, and averaged 2.3 yard per rush. The Vikings defense was flawless sacking Stafford 3 times, one of which was a fumble picked up by Jared Allen in the endzone.

The Lions only bright-spot was Calvin Johnson who caught 6 balls and had an amazing 207 yards including a touchdown of 73 yards.

The Vikings have their bye week next week, and then head to the New Meadowlands Stadium to take on the Jets in week 5. The Lions head to Lambeau Field to tangle with the Packers led by Matt Flynn since Aaron Rodgers is out for the year.

Vikings Beat Dolphins, Favre gets 500th TD
Brett Favre's Touchdown to Percy Harvin in the 4th quarter was his 500th Touchdown pass. Just another accomplishment in the career of Brett Favre.

The Vikings picked up the win Sunday afternoon against the Dolphins thanks to a defense that came more ready to play than they did against the Saints last week. Kevin Williams was a beast in the trenches, picking up 9 tackles, including 3 sacks, Jared Allen and Ray Edwards also picked up sacks. Brett Favre threw 2 Touchdowns and completed just 54% of his passes. While Adrian Peterson continued to struggle averaging 2.7 yds per carry.

Chad Henne played a very good game for the Dolphins, completing 69.6% of his passes with 2 Touchdowns. Ronnie Brown struggled just like Peterson averaging an identical 2.7 yds per carry.

The Vikings will take play their first divisional game next Sunday at home against the Lions, while the Dolphins play the Jets at home next week as well.

Same Ole Situation
Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings lose to the Saints Thursday night in a rematch of the 2009 NFC Championship game.

Not only did the lose but the lost in the same exact fashion as they did 8 months ago, on a field goal from Garrett Hartley in Overtime

Percy Harvin was the Vikings standout leading the team in receiving as well as taking a kick return the the house to force Overtime. Adrian Peterson struggled, he averaged 2.9 yards per carry, while Brett Favre was mediocre, throwing 2 picks in key situations, which is nothing new to him.

Drew Brees struggled in front of a sold out Superdome crowd only completing 46 percent of his passes. Pierre Thomas stole the show rushing for 2 touchdowns late in regulation to secure overtime.

The Vikings take on the Dolphins at Mall of America Field next week, while the Saints travel to Candlestick Park to face the 49ers.

Twins Win Opener against Angels

Scott Baker pitched very well in the season opener against the Angels. He went out and went 7 innings giving up 5 hits and 1 run and struck out 4 Angel batters. He got the no decision in the Twins 2-1 opening day victory

Matt Guerrier came in the 8th inning and let up 2 hits but came out unscaved, striking out 1 batter. He would pick up the win on opening day.

In the top of the 9th Justin Morneau came up to the plate against Angels reliever Justin Bulger and hit a homerun to left field to give the Twins a 2-1 lead. Morneau went 2-for-4 in the game with the game winner.

Jon Rauch came into the game in the bottom of the 9th and shut the door. He shut down the Angels 1-2-3 in the inning, picking up his first save as a Twin. Rauch is of course filling in for Joe Nathan who is out for the entire 2010 season with the Tommy John Surgery. Twins win 2-1.
