How many of you have passports?

As we all know starting next summer Americans and Canadians will have to show passports when crossing the borders. This doesn't bother me so much because I have a passport and so do a majority of Canadians. I've heard some stats that say only 30% or so of Americans own one

So I'm asking you guys do you own a passport? if not, why not?

This will be interesting to find out especially when it comes to finding out why you don't have a passport!

I don't have a passport which will suck starting next year. I usually go to a few Tiger games a year. I never shop in Detroit and now I will have no choice. I simply don't want to spend over $80 to get a 5 year passport per person in my family for the little amount of time we go over to the States. I'll probably get one but we aren't vacationing any time soon and I'm still holding out for the advanced driver's license being created to allow entry into the US.

I've never been outside of the US so I haven't really needed a passport yet.

I have one. Anyone know when you need to have a passport for a child? Do you need one by a certain age? Can you use a birth ceretificate? Just asking as I have a 22 moth old. If we go to Florida next year will he need a passport of his own?

I'm pretty sure mine just expired within the last year or two.

As for why I don't have one, it's because I don't need one at the moment. I guess I could go get one because they last for 10 years or something, but it's not a big deal to me.
