I guess it's going to be the status quo in Blue Jay Land

Hopefully JP can do something he hasn't done before and actually get valuable bargains in free agency or this team is going to be awfully thin especially in the rotation. I guess this'll prove just how good of a manager Cito is if the Jays don't make any big moves this offseason to improve the club.

When the Jays won the World Series 15 years ago, they had the highest payroll in baseball at around $50 million. Now they stand pat with a relatively low payroll in a big division. Toronto is a huge city and there is no reason they can't support a $100+ million dollar payroll. Spending more money = better team = better attendance = more revenue. It's a chicken & egg thing but the Jays will never be competitive long term if they won't spend more money.

Well rudyjuly just remember the Jays had a payroll of over 100 mil last year. The payroll staying static this coming season is more due to the economic downturn as the CND dollar is only 79 cents US.
But yeah, under normal economic times this market should be able to support a 150ish million dollar payroll team.
