And all though RD4 was market to us as a sim it still had some arcady features in it. And after a few months playing the game you realize how much was missing and stuff that should have been added from the get go. After playing other sports games you wonder why couldnt RD4 be as deep as those games such as Madden, Fifa, NBA 2K etc.

Because of that EA Canada get's criticize but was all of it really aimed to them ? Was everything their fault having to carry that burden because of the FN series in the past ? And now that Fight Night Champion is coming out next year is the pressure fair on EA Canada ? The fact that Kudo and previous Knockout Kings developers had more then two years to get it right. While EA Canada has to deliver big time on their second try because if they don't there will be so much criticism and all hope will be lost. There will be tearful crys to 2k sports to make a boxing game only this time to come back with VC and be our savior.

So is it unfair pressure on EA Canada ?.....IMO I'm going to say it's fair because when they took over this title and market it as a sim boxing game. They knew they had their work cut out for them after looking at all the crap we boxing fans had to deal with over the years with the FN series. So many things that were not realistic and so many arcadey features with poor presentation etc. Later on I will update this thread with a list of most of the things myself and others such as Poetic, FightJC, Well Loved, Reignmaka, etc had to experince just to enjoy playing a game of the sport we love so much.

The pressure is on EA Canada but it's fair!....Some may disagree but feel free to post your thoughts.
I totally agree. EA has to make Fight Night Champion like there is no tomorrow.

Great read and I love your box art. I think the pressure is warranted because of the tremendous success of the UFC games.

Pressure is good. It works for coal lumps :P
Seriously, though, the series could use a huge dose of realism. As much as I liked FN4, after a while, I definitely started to feel that it wasn't true enough to the sport such as how your opponent gets off punches while being punched and it having no immediate physical affect on them or their punch until late in the match where they are obviously tired.
Hopefully that and other things will be remedied with FNC.
