EA just don't get it when it comes to sports games.

I don't know who's in charge of marketing, but they are clueless and horrible at their job. EA thinks it needs to be more arcadey to sell. EA is stupid and will fail especially with it's sports titles. The grown-ups who play these games are getting tired of all the gimmicks and non-simulation aspects.

I have did research on various gaming and sports sites and fans want their sport represented fully.
It's not a good business choice to have a full simulation of the sport? I'm sorry to tell these companies that most ****** gamers are women...72 % , These companies have to realize some gamers are not going to play a sports game no matter what.

.

They need to cater to the sports fans. There are too many other games that are taking their so-called ****** fan base. EA is trying to please everyone and losing out on it's core fans.

When you go to all these different forums you have die-hard sports fans upset because of EA not capturing the realism of their sport. Ea needs to think outside that box/cubicle they are in. It's hard to believe they have people working in marketing and other company duties who are clueless to the customers wants....No offense to my friends in the industry

While I do understand the nature of the beast when it comes to businesses trying to satisfy more than their core audiences in order to generate new revenue outside of that core, I do agree that you MUST continue to cater to your core audience especially when their is great room for improvement with the product your core audience purchases.

My mom had a saying when I used to eat like a pig as a child (and everyone thought I would turn out to be a big fat fatty because of it. Ha, didn't happen), "Your eyes are bigger than your stomach." I wanted to eat EVERYTHING put in front of me and if it wasn't in front of me, I went looking for it. Needless to say, I was always full and always making toilet runs.
That being said, that same saying could apply to what happens to many companies and people, basically meaning that they want more than they can deal with.
EA should understand more of who they are when it comes to the Madden franchise. It's not some upstart. EA is a well known brand. Madden is a well known brand. What they need to further understand is that they really started losing potential money because they haven't given the core audience what they pretty much completely want. Once they satisfy the core audience, word of mouth as to how great the game has become will spread and they will not only pick up potential new consumers (not so much ******s, though. You either like football or not), they will get back those who have abandoned the Madden brand.

As a company selling a product, they should very well have a grip on how important word of mouth is. Word of mouth is what has taken dollars out of their pockets because they have lost so many once loyal fans who affect how others feel about the game. That's just human nature but it's an important thing to understand.

Overall, though, I think they've headed in the right direction with Madden 10. They built on something promising in Madden 09 and hopefully, they will continue to build on Madden 10. They are definitely working toward that ultimate game of "foozball" but this recent announcement about "new innovations" in Madden 11 has me gravely concerned. I just hope that means that their will be a brand new engine with incredible animations in this next Madden. That's only true "innovation" I want to see with this new Madden, along with fixing old issues.

Thanks for commenting and I agree with everything you said. I speak to the EA Fight Night Round 4 producers every chance I get and they keep trying to cater to everybody and they can't. They fail to realize a ****** fan is going to buy a boxing game if it's totally sim just because it has fighting in it.
