Pricing for digital and physical copies of the same game is a scam!
Posted on April 27, 2014 at 10:11 PM.
Why are people willing to pay the same price for a digital copy of a game? There is no excuse for a company to charge a consumer the same price they would charge a customer who buys a physical copy.
The material costs and other costs are eliminated. The company isn't giving the customers anything extra. Customers are downloading from a database or digital file. How is this worth the same as factory made products?!? Fans need to wake up and stop supporting this robbery!

There is an excuse. It's the fact that the retail stores will get pissed off if the game companies start undercutting them, and until internet speeds & caps catch up to the size of modern games, there isn't a large enough digital audience to risk pissing off the retailers, especially when they NEED on the retailers to sell hardware, and accessories for these consoles so that people can buy these games.

I love my physical copies of products.

The pros and cons of a physical disc also far outweighs that of the digital...
U can't trade digital.. Can only download it x amount of times... can't return if it's a crappy game.. And lastly digital prices take way too long to update to current market values

@Meechyaboy - I cant think of any major digital service that has a limited number of downloads. I still download games I bought on Origin or Steam or Xbox Live from years ago. Also, Origin gives you 7 days to return a game.

Personally I like both - physical for PS4 and 360 (unless there is a great sale), digital for PC (no trade in market really) and PS Vita (convenience). But the first poster called it - you cant piss off your main distribution channels.

Swings and roundabouts imho - I personally love the ease of digital download, but also appreciate hard copies as they'll always be available to install and play whereas a digital service in some cases can go offline and prevent use.
