EA has a love affair with arcadey sports gaming
Posted on January 9, 2012 at 11:21 AM.
EA has a huge love affair with arcadey sports gaming. EA seems to think sim/realistic sports games don't sell. They have been showing their true colors lately by buying or re-introducing arcade style sports games. They have really been pushing these types of games.

I'm starting to think the near future games they say will be sim/realistic will be nothing but hybrid sim/arcade games. EA never made a sim/realistic sports game so how can they fear making one. I can't see Madden or even EA Highly-Anticipated basketball game breaking the arcade shadow EA love.

I do think they need to introduce a sim/arcade option where the game plays differently.

i am sure their idea is that '****** gaming' is the key due to these iPhone gimmick stuff. So they want in. It is apparently their approach to get a arcade like name. I wonder how long before the deadline money pinchers of the corporation part of EA says the money isn't in sim anymore.

Options for both modes should be priority, but EA won't do it.

I am no fan of EA sports but maybe, just maybe they are releasing these titles for the ******/arcade fans and going to make madden and nba live for the simulation lovers.

Madden is a hybrid sim/arcadey game too. I doubt that NBA Elite/Live 2012 will break the mold that EA has shaped.

Since the NFL in real life is arcadey. Madden actually represents the sport pretty well.

Fight Night Champion is a perfect example of how they tried to be sim yet delivered a messy arcade game!
