The Kings lose another close one, this time to division rival Portland Trailblazers. The Kings once again played collectively good defense as they forced another foe to shoot just 40% from the field, however the turnovers and fouls caught up to this young team.

Baby steps for the Kings is what head coach Rick Adelman is hoping can lead to success, the 56 year old head coach, who just shared a lot of success with the Kings before the league wide redraft of what is now known as the SGBA. Adelman was just at the top of basketball circles, but is now looking to reshape the Kings once again.

Billups. Odom. Harrington. Ginobili. Dixon. Fred Jones. Roger Mason. Kwame Brown. Matt Barnes. The young foundation for this Kings team features players that are 26 years and younger. The Kings had the disservice of picking in the back half of a fixed draft, but Adelman and first year general manager Richard Bowman have put a together a squad featuring youth, balance, diversity, and they're both looking forward to building something special with this core.

Kings fan should not be discouraged despite the 0-2 record, the Kings are playing competitive basketball and will look for their first win as they play the Memphis Grizzlies on 11/2.
