Salary Cap in Baseball? I say No.

Hey guys,

I appreciate the feedback on my last entry as it helped me mold my answers to this question. After some digging, I say no. What do you all think?

Between the Revenue Sharing Plan and the Competitive Balance Tax, I believe Major League Baseball has the necessary regulation in place to maintain a competitive balance among the 32 Major League baseball entities. I do not believe a salary cap would benefit baseball any further.
Each team is a separate business enterprise, and it is their obligation to use the best business practices and strategy to build their teams into championship contenders while sustaining a profitable business.
Major League Baseball’s Revenue Sharing provides a financial backbone for smaller market teams in need of assistance along with instruction on how to spend these funds. Each Club contributes 31% of its Net Local Revenue to the Base Plan at the conclusion of each championship season.
