First off, I find it striking that I'm approaching 200 subscriber's. What originally started as a one off way to kill time has became a rather enjoyable weekly ritual.
I find it easier and faster to make a simple video, than to open my email account and sift around 15-20 "When is your next video" messages. I suppose I should have turned off automated email messages before this all started.
I wrote in a blog before, my thoughts on CD. However, I felt the need to reiterate them at a time where people become gowning skeptical of my "agenda" in all this.
First off, from a consumer relation perspective, CD and the fact some Dev's visit this board is a huge plus. If nothing else it shows EA acknowledges the mistakes of past games and comes with some desire to fix them. Much like anything in life, to correct a problem, you have to admit it first.
I was a little discouraged to read that some EA employees make fun of the Dev's that show up here. I liken that to a "If your not with me, your against me." scenario. If you work for EA and cant understand how making any of its titles better is good for you, then quite frankly you need to be shown the door. A better final product reflects better on the company as a whole, regardless if you sweep floors or lead projects.
Personally apart from presentation or online features, physics and gameplay input should be coming from professionals. I wont pretend to know what impact the CD guys had, or what football experience they brought. I think its safe to assume professionals could have brought more to the table.
I'm just not sure how comfortable (or relevant) I would be contributing to a game who's motto is "If you see it on Sunday" which falls behind EA's motto "Its in the game".

You're misunderstanding. Actually the other guys within the halls of EA probably thought that the Madden team is wasting their time trying to cater to a community who would probably never appreciate anything that they do. They're only saying that the community will never appreciate any improvements that they make because people are still upset about the NFL exclusivity license and don't care what Madden does. Also, the CD guys aren't the only people who tested the game. The Community Day guys represents this community and many ideas that we have, but the majority of them were OS's harshest critics. Also, what is your definition of "professionals"? Nearly everyone here has football knowledge and I'm sure physics were definitely on the table by those who attended CD.
