Could an O-Lineman win MVP?
Posted on January 7, 2009 at 09:18 AM.
Barry Sanders had a record day with 333 yards on the ground against the San Antonio Stampeders. He has rushed for over 1100 yards in 5 games and is averaging 230 yards per game. He is on pace to rush for a staggering 3718 yards in the regular season. He leads a 3-2 team that hasn't scored a passing touchdown and is dead last in passing yards. Obvious team MVP right?

"I don't even think I am the best player on this team", said Barry Sanders. "That's our go to guy", pointing at offensive guard Larry Little.

Larry Little has simply been that dominant throughout the regular season. He has proven to be a threat on both sides of the line, in the inside running game, outside running game, and a stalwart at pass protection.

"What makes Larry so special is that we can use him on both sides of the line. He can get to take on any DT, allowing other OL to get to the second level, if we run to his side. He is the best pulling guard in history, so any time there is a situation where we can get him to pull, we take advantage.", says Savages head coach Walter Reed.

Sure he's next to two great OL in their own right in Bubba Paris and Dermonttii Dawson. "He just makes us so much better", states tackle Bubba Paris. "He does some crazy stuff out there. I can't believe it sometimes."
