Engine Rudy vs. Crying Pelican vs. 40 Dirk
Posted on January 14, 2014 at 05:42 AM.

If any of you remember me at all I'm a big fan of Rudy Gay since the beginning. When he was traded to the Raptors last season I was like he can make that team work, he is that deciding factor. Now what I see is that he is indeed the engine behind a a team. He can score, make plays, isolate and I could go on. I mean I was a Kings sympathizer even before he went there (simply because I saw way too much talent there). Anyway now that I back watching most games in the NBA I see why I said a year ago that the Kings will grow and maybe just maybe start to win here and there. Now I'm not saying that they are going to be playoff material from now on, but I see some development. Cousins is also much more mature now. If any of you remember how he acted last year basically fouled out more times than I can remember. I'm glad Thorton stayed there. Sacramento has some color in their game and I always love a fighting team. I will keep my eyes on them from now on.

Fouls, cry, fouls, cry. With Dirk scoring 40 I do really see something being off the NBA lately. Mainly on the refs side. Calls are far off quite frequently these days. The last was the Pelicans and Mavs last seconds. I was like okaaay, that's foul, but not like he was going for a shot. The shot attempt was made after the foul which was in the same moment the end whistle was heard. You could always argue. The thing is Dallas had a decent lead which they couldn't keep and it all came down to this in the end. I bet no one would have complained if the difference were 10 points at least (just sayin).

Now to the fun part. I'm sure Dirk made some people smile by scoring 40 points against the Pelicans. The giant was so hot that I was laughing when he missed the first shot during that "scoring streak". It was like "Okay you missed one? One? One?". He is one of those players that I have huge amount of respect for no matter what he does. At his age playing the minutes he does, putting effort into it. I'm amazed by his fitness. He and Vince Carter are like "old" according to NBA ages, but still scoring, defending it's good to see that they are doing good.
