NBA Recap - Pacers - Mavericks - Hawks - Way to Go...
Posted on November 23, 2012 at 08:19 AM.

Due to recently being way too busy at work I couldn't blog about the events that I feel I need to write about. As people might already guessed I'm all in for the Pacers, Hawks and Mavericks teams with added flavor of Memphis and the all time favorite Boston. Recently most of my teams had great matches. I really feel that finally they are going somewhere.

Hawks vs Wizards

I have been following the Hawks for years and the Josh Smith & Joe Johnson combo was one of my favorite. Since Joe left (seems like he isn't really himself in Brooklyn) I was afraid that the Atlanta based flying predators won't be able to hold off. They have 9 new player on the roster and still adjusting. Though the individual talent is better than it was last year. Shame though that Anthony Morrow is a shell of his formal self currently, but there is always Kyle Korver when you need him. Great clutch shooter, amazing player, just love what he's been doing. Josh Smith dropped 25 with 11-19 from the field is finally the Josh Smith future All-Star I wanted to see back, not only that he grabbed 12 rebounds, before he fouled out in OT. Most players on the Hawks team scored over 10 points. Horford with 9 rebounds, 10 assists and 15 points is a near triple double for the big man. Teague with 14 points and 7 assists, Harris with 13 points and 5 assists, though the gamewinner was hit by Kyle Korver. A beautiful clutch 3 pointer to take the lead in overtime which led the Hawks to victory. Though on paper the Wizards even with Nene from the bench should be a weaker team (sorry) than the Hawks it seemed that Atlanta struggled to really take over the DC based Wizards. Anyway it was a great game, with huge moment and a lot of excitement. If you missed it, watch it even though you know the end result, entertaining as it can be.

Hawks win over the Wizards in OT 101 - 100

Mavericks vs Knicks
"Vinsanity is there"

Vincent Carter. A man we all remember. Used to drop around 40 on better days and dunked like a beast. Now he is the sixth man of the Dallas Mavericks. Even though at the age of 35 he isn't scoring like he used to be, he puts up as much effort as he could. His defense game really improved from last year. This was the second time he had two huge blocks in a game. He also scored a reverse Dr. J like layup and hit 5 Treys for fun. Incredible shooting ability Vince has. He can score while in the traffic. He dropped 25 from the bench while OJ Mayo dropped 27. The difference is carter played 25 minutes while Mayo nearly 36. I know it's not gonna be an everyday usual from Vince, but loved what he did along with the OJ show going on. The move really helped OJ to elevate his status in the league and his game is better as well. Darren Collison is a guy I don't really settle with. I mean I like what he does, but he makes way too many early offensive moves and can't defend his position all that well. Great player, but I don't really see him making a long run in Dallas. 7 assists and 19 points from him is still very nice. The Knicks have a winning formula. Even though they lost to the Mavs this time, they have what it takes to go on and finally get their deserved second round match in the playoffs. That is if they finally learn to win without "cheesing". I don't like the way JR Smith and Carmelo acts after something isn't going their way. I do think that even though Anthony scored 23 points he was one of the reasons that led this loss. Chandler had a great game with 21 points. I always looked at Tyson Chandler as beast. The guy is so intense on offense and defense that it's hard to tell what is he missing. It was cleat that it wasn't Ronnie Brewers night as his performance was way below average. Interesting and another very exciting game.

Mavs won over Knicks 114 to 111

Indiana vs New Orleans
"Paul /Mr. 9 3 PTs/ George"

That's it. Now I'm all in on the new Pacers. They have what it takes to go forward and take down the big teams in the future. Even without Danny Granger they can play a really good game, but just as well can breakdown (like we saw against the Knicks). Paul George is a hero in my eyes. Setting a franchise record with 9 3 point shots made in a match is a feat in itself, well he preformed and a career outbreaking, incredible, high level with 37 points. The dude was on fire for anything's sake, it was like "Let's stop that guy from shooting", George was like "Yeah right" /Shot made/. I don't know what happened there, but I hope I see him in the starting lineup with Danny Granger performing regularly near this level. David West's play style net him 16 points, in his age I feel like sometimes he is older than he actually is and on better night he is like 3 years younger. Roy Hibbert is a center I love and I'm not the center liking type of person, but Hibbert made me think that Centers can actually outperform powerforwards. Even though Roy can play a better game, he still had a solid night with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Wednesday was one of those night that I could follow thanks to the League Pass, these three matches were well worth it. I have nothing in the world against the Hornets, but I do think the Indiana is in another category when they are playing in there top form. I love OT games, because there is a lot of excitement going on, but Pacers should have outdone New Orleans by the end of the 4th. What happened? Too many mistakes. At the end of the 4th that was a rushed offense, they had more time than that, but no. It clearly shows that they aren't clutch players, so Indiana should settle for what they are good for. Take the offense to the other team in the second and third, then keep that lead in the 4th.

Pacers take the win in OT 114 -107
