NBA Recap - Grizzlies vs Thunder - Rudy Gay from everywhere
Posted on November 15, 2012 at 05:47 AM.

Memphis is a team I thought to be above average, but since I didn't have a league pass I could only follow their highlights. Now everything is different. They quickly became my new "I liked them very much" kind of team in the West. I mean the team is built to win with team play some quick explosions and of course world class players. It's clear that Gasol came back with some added bonus from the Olympic games as he dominates the paint even more so than before, it doesn't matter if he scores or not, he is just playing better. Tony Allen had some nice moves there, but I missed Ellington's form from the previous match against the Heat. Though he played fewer minutes, still 6 points from his is something I don't like to see. Bayless on the other hand scoring 12 including two 3 pointers of his three tries. I say solid game for him. Rudy Gay is a serious all-star beast material player. The way he performed in the 4th quarter was just something I didn't see coming. Shooting incredibly hard shots in traffic and nailing them is new to me. He didn't shoot this well a couple of years ago and something has happened to his game. Scoring 28 points, grabbing 6 rebounds and giving 5 assists is good game for Rudy. Randolph scoring 20 and grabbing 11 rebounds is just the way a double-double is done. Thought his stupid mistakes led to him being thrown from the game, but he still played very well. I do think that Gasol hitting Westbrook was not completely intentional, but still did bounced it a little. The reaction from Westbrook could have another technical if they gave so many fouls to Memphis. The ref whistled way too much for Memphis during that quarter in my opinion, but Gay's and Randolph combined 48 points did the job. Amazing 2nd and 4th quarters from Memphis.

On the Thunder side Westbrook just became an irritating little man, who could be much better if he wouldn't think that this is all about him. His arrogant moves occasionally are becoming the Thunder's problem or will in the long run. I used to like him, because I though if someone has talent it all comes to down the coach to teach him how to use it. It didn't happen, he seems like he is too much of his own man. Durant on the other hand had a nice game. Scoring 34 points grabbing 10 rebounds is a solid game. Oklahoma had an amazing 1st quarter and really outplayed Memphis, but from then on something happened. They couldn't really defend against the offense, though I can't state the defense was inactive. Major problem in my eyes were the shots that should have been fired. I like the way Durant tries to save his team when they are down. It just makes him play above his average performance level. Even though Ibaka was a defensive beast and helped his team with 8 rebounds and 17 points it was still not enough to beat the Memphis Grizzlies, who are on a roll with the 6th straight victory.

Memphis wins 107 - 97
