"And you would be Ray Allen? Mind if I just pass through?"

Brooklyn Nets vs Orlando Magic

This was a Sunday I did not expect to see end like this. Good and bad endings and some nice experience. Brooklyn finally showed that they can indeed play. Kris Humphries showed me again why I'm considering him one of the top power forwards in the league. Scoring 14 points and grabbing none less than 21 I repeat 21 rebounds. Kris had an amazing night along with Brooklyn. An amazing defensive performance for him last night. Early lead led to a victory, finally seeing that fire burning which motivates the Nets. Of course it's not all Nets, but the Magic's defense was nowhere to be seen. Brook Lopez with 20 seems to be an offensive center good to have. Though his defensive game isn't all that good, Humphries took and could take care of that part in the future. Deron Williams finally balancing the shots and passes better. His shot selection improved since last season. 7 assists and 17 points for him, which you could say is a good performance. Joe Johnson on the other hand only scoring 13 with 4 assists and managing 3 out of 13 from the field. What the hell? He can't find his shots. In Atlanta he could create his own offense now I don't see that at all. Magic has a terrible season thus far, but I don't blame them Affalo and Davis are very good on offense, especially seeing that Big Baby can attack the rim while in huge traffic. Both got 19 points, but Davis grabbed 10 rebound while Affalo grabbed 7 while giving 5 assists. End game came to a 82-74 Brooklyn victory. They really should have had a bigger victory, since there was a time when they were leading by 17. Without Brooks, without Wallace what a nice win though. Even if it seems that Brooklyn's offense on paper is weaker, they dominated Orlando in both played games. Stackhouse showed us the previous game, why do I consider him a world class player. The Nets have the potential, while Orlando lacks the offensive pressure and have no overall team defense. I mean Deron Williams could just go in with a floater and score like no one is even there while Glen Davis was clearly in front of him. This is getting shameful for the Magic. New coach, Poppovich protege, I had hopes that the Dwight trade might not effect them that bad, but I had to admit I was wrong.

"You see that guy? - Yeah. - He can't defend my grandma, give him those floaters"

Where is the defense? Where is Josh Smith?

I don't know what's going on in Hawks city, but I don't like it. Personally I never liked or disliked the Clippers, but they earned that victory. Josh Smith should have taken at least one more game off and play less minutes with that injury. Josh Smith 13 points, 5 rebound and 4 assists is low for a team leading star. He should either step up his game or take a week off to heal. Louis Williams is always good off the bench. He can score he can create shots and he can find teammates, but he couldn't manage more than 11 points against the Clippers. Horford and Korver played below average and you can state that it wasn't effecting the team's game. DeAndre Jordan is somewhat became an offensive beast. I don't know he seems more aggressive and his off ball game is way better. Clippers's team play work. The formula is very very effective both on offense and defense. Chris Paul as a point guard is still one of the best if not the best point guard in the league. 15 points and 8 assists, this includes his alley-oop pass to Jordan who dunked on 3 defenders in the paint. Blake Griffin going all the way with 16 points 6 rebounds. Don't ask me why I just don't like the way Griffin is dealing out there. Sure Clippers need an aggressive forward, but for some reason while I respect his game, I don't respect his mentality. He is one of those guys, who can't really be calm, sure LA needs a player who is ticking machine, bu Griffin could be so much better if he'd learn to just step back a couple of times. I'm not saying he isn't effective now, but could do so much better than just highlighting. Atlanta is a team I like. They have a good overall build, once everyone is healthy and they get rid of Zaza and get a true defensive center they can be serious contenders. Josh Smith alone won't win the game. I believe the starting line-up isn't working. Korver is good shooter, but can't defend anything and he can't score effectively in the first half. They should focus on shooting guard and center defense while Smith a Horford take the forward spots and score with aid of Teague or Harris. Jeff isn't your typical point guard, but isn't the Westbrook type either, he is somewhere in the middle. Great talent, great offensive player, but he can't pressure scoring guards enough and Atlanta needs good "teammate finder". My opinion: I would say Trade Teague for Bradley Beal, trade Morrow and Ivan Johnson for a Brandon Jennings. It would mean that Korver can step down as the starter. Beal could score in the first quarter while pressuring his position, while Jennings could find Smith or Hordford more effectively than Teague. As much I love Jeff Teague I have to admit this. Clippers won the match 89 to 76.

"Don't mind if I do, I'm a point guard...Wait, you center?"

MEMPHIS MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES EATING HEAT !!!!

Seriously this team is a legit threat now to anybody. Their offense and defense seemed very well balanced last night against the reigning champions. Even though Wade returned he only had 8 points while Chris Bosh scored 22 and grabbed 8 rebounds. LeBron seemed the only other offensive player in Miami scoring 22 and grabbing 10 rebound, which was still not enough. It seemed like the Heat we saw choking during the beginning of the Pacers series. Memphis dominated the court. Wayne Elligton's career high 25 points off the bench helped a lot and he was really feeling his game. Rudy Gay is always an effective player. His offensive skills come with some nice defense on his position and this led to 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Grizzlies had a huge night with some major plays. Rudy making a huge dunk along the way. Zach Randolph with 18 points and 12 rebounds made me rethink what I think about Memphis. They have a good team, but didn't have the right formula, now I see some light at the end of the tunnel. Front court offensive play excluding Gasol was pretty solid. Marc took the role of the last stand in defense. Scored only 2, but grabbed 10 rebounds and gave 6 assists. Mike Conley scoring 18 with 9 assists seems like he is getting the balance I was thinking about when I mentioned Deron Williams. He played the same way as usual, but more effectively. Huge performance by the Grizzlies. Rudy Gay opening up with a 3 PT shot that nearly dropped my jaw. From that point on I was rooting for the Grizzlies. I didn't really follow them until now, I knew what kind of players they have a watched their bigger matches, but not in this season nore the pre-season, but they are sure worth following. Zach Randolph was impressive from the get-go. He is a guy I'd love to have at the beginning of a game. Rudy Gay with a huge dunk on LeBron while he left the defense right where they stood was an amazing play by itself. Another huge moment was Bayless's chasedown block on Ray Allen after he intercepted a bad pass in traffic. Memphis turned it over thanks to Bayless and Ellington scored again with a 3. Huge moment. Memphis might just come out good without Mayo. OJ seems to be doing fine in Dallas and the Grizzlies have a lot to prove too. Interesting season this year for sure.

Memphis won 104 to 86 in an amazing match.
