I have to say that I'm sad that with the talent Sacramento has gathered they are still struggling. It showed against San Antonio last night. Even though DeMarcus Cousins. Even though he is playing well, he lacks the mentality on the court. Stupid fouls and sometimes takes shots he couldn't really hit while wide open. Like the one against Duncan, which benched him while he was having a huge game. 14 points and 9 rebounds isn't half bad and he isn't in his prime yet from my point of view. The line-up isn't good. James Johnson is good a player, but not actually a starter and while I do think Marcus Thornton is better player than Evans I think benching him is somewhat a right move. Though benching Evans and playing Thornton would be better as Marcus can score in openings minutes and clutch times as well while Evans is struggling this year. Thornton scoring 17 is nice in itself, but still needs to find his spots as he shot 7 out of 17 from the field. Isaiah Thomas needs to learn the game. He is way too arrogant. 10 points and only 2 assists? Really? Is that all? Kings need to learn who play which role on the court. They need to prevent those turnover and let Cousins, Thornton and Evans do some major damage with Thompson, Johnson and the bench backing them up. Jason Thompson scoring a huge amount for himself with 17 while keeping 70% from the field and grabbing 6 rebounds.
Tim "Mr. Fine Wine" Duncan is still an amazing player. I don't know how he does it, but sometimes I forget about his age. 23 points 9 out of 12 from field, 12 rebound and had time to give 4 assists. Of course Cousin's benching played a huge role as Sacramento's defense became wide open. Tony Parker...Tony...Tony, what's wrong with you? Last year scoring up to 26 and now you see him 5 points 1 from the field out of 5 tries and giving 6 assists, what's wrong with the scoring point guard role? Parker seems to lack something this year. His last good game was against Utah since then he seems to be doing worse and worse. Patrick Mills was a sight for sore eyes. 18 points 8 out of 9 from the field, dropped 2 Three pointers out of 3 tries seems to me that he is getting to a role which makes him a bigger thread than before.
I hope something happens in Sacramento. I'd hate to see a team with this potential sink again. The Spurs is just Spurs. They are good, but need to get better. Poppovich knows this better than I do so I won't say I know where they have to improve, but the aging team might just be something and it showed against the Clippers.
