I'm not sure what Garber was thinking, Yankee Stadium attendance is usually never a concern, they almost always have a full house and secondly, Im not sure many fans etc etc really care about Yankee attendance, unless he was just trying to get under Levines skin......anyway, it went like this ....Mention those empty seats at Yankee Stadium at your own risk.
Don Garber did.
A day after the Major League Soccer commissioner raised the subject, New York Yankees president Randy Levine blasted back.
"Don Garber discussing Yankee attendance must be a joke," Levine said Friday. "We draw more people in a year than his entire league does in a year. If he ever gets Major League Soccer into the same time zone as the Yankees, we might take him seriously.
"Hey, Don, worry about Beckham, not the Yankees. Even he wants out of your league," he said.
Star David Beckham has been loaned from MLS's Los Angeles Galaxy to AC Milan through the end of the Italian Serie A season.
Garber said he'd noticed unfilled seats at Yankees and Mets games.
"It's incomprehensible that you watch a game, and there will be front-row seats empty," he said.
MLS averaged 16,460 in the regular season last year for a total of 3.46 million. The Yankees averaged 53,070, a total of 4.3 million.
Baltimore: OF Nick Markakis reached base for the 25th straight game, the longest active streak in the majors.

Cleveland: RHP Adam Miller, 24, the organization's top pitching prospect, will likely undergo career-threatening surgery on his right middle finger next week.

Detroit: Reliever Joel Zumaya finished a minor-league rehab assignment and will be activated today.
Kansas City: All-Star closer Joakim Soria will be out at least three days with a sore right shoulder.... 2B Alberto Callaspo snapped the major leagues' longest stretch without a home run, 441 at-bats.
Minnesota: C Joe Mauer (injured back) went 2 for 4 with two RBI in the first game of a rehab assignment with Class A Fort Myers, Fla. He hopes to join the Twins Friday.
New York: Struggling RHP Chien-Ming Wang might have a foot problem that affects his velocity, manager Joe Girardi said
